Records stores

It's sad. I was at the records store the other day, things have changed so much. apart from a few chart topping albums they only sell old stuff. No news, no one of the artists I'm diggin (tru youtube that is my main way to dicover new stuff)...So now it's get the mp3 or **** you...Nowhere to buy records...also how do you guys know what's out? is there some kind of website that lists all the hip hop music out? cause honestly all new music I discovered recently is tru random youtubing.

The harsh reality is that a huge part of the problem is that the record biz is a victim of its own doing by putting out inferior product created by less than mediocre individuals

I agree but I beleive inferior stuff always existed. What really made me sad is the drastic impoverishment of the choice.

Recods stores

Blogs. But they aren't much different from Anything else as far as preferential treatment and affiliation. I for one don't think modern music sucks at all. You just have to dig for it a little.

**** that--tangent.

YOU ALWAYS HAD TO DIG FOR GOOD MUSIC.

Get your head out your asses, turn off the radio, look around for some dope music.

The lack of physical stores kinda sucks cause it's harder to dig on a personal level but it can still be done electronically. I discover new good music on a daily basis. Get a twitter.

DIG DIG DIG

When did hip-hop culture become not about digging?!

Don't be another lazy consumer then complain about the lack of good music.

Hotnewhiphop.com and Hypem.com are two websites that I like to go to get new music. Hypem.com isn't really for Hip Hop, but it sometimes has some good hip hop and it's good to expand your horizons anyway.

There are also a lot of great hip hop blogs such as:

nahright.com
2dopeboyz.com

Dude it's not about being lazy. I used to have my recods stores that I liked some for jamaican 45's some for hip hop records and even at the mole's records store you could find a good choice of news each month. now almost all my fav records stores CLOSED, when I chek the hip hop/rnb section at the mole...It's DANCE music...

I mean this:

man that wack shit wack dudes been bumping invaded my departement...I see the 40th album of that ol dude I used to listen to 10 years ago...still hip hop but he's a lil tied now... where are the kids I've been painfully youtubing? yes it's painfull, cheking forums, blogs, random links and whatnot to hopefully find some serious spitter....If you want the album forget about the vinyl (utopia), dont even dream about a CD...but you can download the shitty mp3 (yea that shit file all my neighbour's kids been DLing for free)...As a customer I'm lost. Digging? nah...computing maybe.
