Jbl LSR28p or Dynaudio BM15A for Dance/Hiphop Hi, I am looking for good loud speakers for mixing on. I don't want hype. I want accuracy and definition when I am mixing. I am looking at JBL LSR 28p or Dynaudio BM15A. Which is better for mixing hiphop or Dance. I need to be able to have accurance for mixing the perfect 808 kick or 909 etc. If you have anyother ones that you recommend to let me know. Someone else pointed out the Tannoy 1200. I also have NS10s and Dynaudio DM6A for Nearfield. I want loud but I can't afford bigt boys like Genlecs becuase I don't have $20000 to spend. thanks

Well, if you have enough money, don't hesitate and go for the JBL. They're the most precise. Hip Hop is not cool just because it makes people dance. Hip hop is cool because it's an art that is using really advanced mixing and processing technics. Same thing for Dance or House music. That's why the JBL LSR6328P are perfect for this. Don't forget your RMC Kit thought ^^

LSR28P's will take the abuse day in and day out... They have a little low mid thing happening, but it can be compensated for.

I listened to the jbl's vs. events the other day. It seemed to my ears the jbl were more scooped or hi-fi sounding in the lower-mids.

Neither is and they both are. I would never call either acurate, but the NS10's is not known for its acuracy either. Mixing monitors is a personal thing. On the Tannoy's i would pass on the 1200's. They are much too edgy in the midrange and Tannoy changed the build quality on them. If you want a Tannoy look into a used DMT10II/12II,a Tannoy sub, sound anchor stands and a Perreaux power amplifier(what i currently use). The DMT II series was probably their best modern concentric design. | |
