I bought the trilogy bass module by spectrasonics. I think it rules. Quantum Leap Colossus is also cool for all your daily sounds. It's great if you want to eliminate an external hardware based synth. Its not cheap but when you compare it to the price of a motif rack or something like that, it is actually a good price.

So many bass sounds. There is almost to many and when you consider the possibility of saving your own setups its just crazy.

Yeah.2 producer buds of mine went to visit another producer's studio and were seriously freaked out by the realism of these bass sounds. They said it was uncanny how u had every little detail emulated to perfection.Fret-noise, the works. Now naturally, I'm itching for this myself.Whats its current price tag though?I heard that its pricey, but I cant recall what that price is/was.

Some producers, after hearing kanye's intro to Common's album 'BE', have come to believe that Kanye employed the use of this very bass module.Did u hear that double bass on that intro?Madd. My bud even had one of the top session musicians try and recreate that bass part live and he was not finding it too easy.

On that note I would say your best off getting a good sample player...maybe like Battery 2 or something and going for sample libraries from CD roms, off the net, or even here on the 1 hitta post. If any one know a good sofrtware plugins that have good drums for Hip Hop I'm all ears.

Battery 2 isn't that great IMO I would be willing to let mine go for cheap. I think that for a logic user who chops get intakt, that's pretty nice. For drum sounds, get the GarageBand Remix 3 disc, that's hot, and Stylus RMX is the bob shnizzy for drums. The new version 1.5 is redic, I don't use the loops at all, I use it in kit mode or preset multis.

BTW Sonik Synth isn't working well with L7, besides the sounds are aiight. Logic's sounds with plugsounds, and the garageband 2, 3, and 4 sets are your best bet for bread and butter.

There is so many sounds in Stylus, some of them are probably dated, but different productions I still would use a "dated" snare. There's only so many kiks and snares in the world and I think they Spec put together a package that doesn't miss much.

When I got the Triton, I sampled the Drums, Motif, Mophatt, and most recently (last year) the supremedance card inside the FantomS drums. Out of all of those I still like the Stylus right now, but it's still only a month old for me. Lindrum RM4 is hot also, there is some crazy old school resampled looped chopped drums in there. FI, they chopped up funky drummer, but it doens't sound like Funky Drummer, but then again it does! Crazy ish in there. Linplugs are hot also, don't sleep. The demo of Sax Plug is so nutty, I'm going to have to get that one.

Battery 2 and a bunch of records will give you the best results.
