haha

Your a pleasant chap. Thanks for making it about me.

What rappers are going platinum or gold these days??????

I have hundreds of songs, that obviously you will immediately piss on and not give them the slightest chance. No need to reply saying how shitty I am and how my wee little brain can not handle it. I'm lucky to make it through a day with my mental incapacity. It's all good man, I respect your opinion, if you like I can lay right down so you can walk all over me if that will make you feel better. I can handle it. That is what I am here for

Let me clarify. Today with the advent of technology, everybody is doing it, the genre has been watered down, it totally is lacking.

I will say there is some stuff that is well written but overall the majority of them do not make their own instrumentals, which is a huge blow IMO. I enjoy MUSIC, I am not a one genre guy who admirably fights for its supremacy. I like what I like regardless of genre. I feel the songwriting for the most part to be lacking, that is how i feel about it. You are free to have your opinion and I respect it, but it is merely opinion, no need to get all offended. Usually when someone becomes so quickly defensive it is because there was a sentiment of truth in what I said or maybe you felt it was reflecting upon you. I don't know you but I am sure you are not who i am talking about.

I never said anything about me in regards to it, nor did I post in a bitter manner. Just stating what was my opinion. I'm trying to get as far away from rap as possible these days simply based on what I see.

Everybody is the next big star ready to blow, the hottest greatest most amazing rapper ever...it's sad man. You really can't deny this.

In no way am I discrediting the genre's place in History but let's be honest, it is hurting these days.

Sooo, I have a fairly large library of songs, whether they are every going to be good enough to have people talking is anyone's guess. Let me guess what your guess is..not a chance. Totally cool with that dude. You may be right, only time will tell.

I hope you have a pleasant day and that all your dreams and wishes may come true.

Travel like a king
Listen to the inner voice
A higher wisdom is at work for you
Conqering the stumbling blocks come easier
When the conqueror is in tune with the infinite
Every ending is a new beginning
Life is an endless unfoldment
Change your mind, and you change your relation to time

You can find the answer
The solution lies within the problem
The answer is in every question
Dig it?
An attitude is all you need to rise and walk away
Inspire yourself
Your life is yours
It fits you like your skin

The oak sleeps in the acorn
The giant sequoia tree sleeps in its tiny seed
The bird waits in the egg
God waits for his unfoldment in man
Fly on, children
Play on

You gravitate to that which you secretly love most
You meet in life the exact reproduction of your own thoughts
There is no chance, coincidence or accident
In a world ruled by law and divine order
You rise as high as your dominant aspiration
You descend to the level of your lowest concept of your self
Free your mind and your ass will follow

The infinite intelligence within you knows the answers
Its nature is to respond to your thoughts
Be careful of the thought-seeds you plant in the garden of your mind
For seeds grow after their kind

Every thought felt as true
Or allowed to be accepted as true by your conscious mind
Take roots in your subconscious
Blossoms sooner or later into an act
And bears its own fruit
Good thoughts bring forth good fruit
Bullshit thoughts rot your meat
Think right, and you can fly
The kingdom of heaven is within
Free your mind, and your ass will follow.

Funkadelic "Good thoughts, Bad Thoughts"

Oops, not hiphop. Oh well. I guess my mind is too tiny to comprehend the complexity of loops dropped into GarageBand underneath some inbred hilljack blatting about his gat and his hoes and his ride and his bling...

Been listening to this a bit lately...

Well he liked his weed, or so I have heard, surely rappers can "respect" that...

Not sure if any wisdom is contained within that..Of course Selassie was assassinated, at least I believe so, and that usually de_notes a fair amount of cognitive content

Kanye West-

"There aint no tuition for having no ambition and there aint no loans for sittin your ass at home"

Sage Francis-
"Making you think you're crazy is a billion dollar industry.
If they could sell sanity in a bottle
They'd be charging for compressed air,
And marketing healthcare.
They demonize welfare,
Middle class eliminated,
Rich get richer til the poor get educated."

"Who's the one to blame for this strain in my vocal chords?
Who can pen a hateful threat but can't hold a sword?
It's the same who complain about the global war,
But can't overthrow the local joker that they voted for."

"Get Me Out of This!!
hooked up to plugs and wires while dogs sniff for powdered substance
in a town of judgements and glass house developments
cookie cutter republican school book intelligence
they aint never considered how just one rock
could crack the whole facade,
now they confiscate the slingshots"

Tonedeff-
"Sometimes I hate everyone and everything -
To the world itself
Even though I'm the portrait of health
And been blessed with many things"

"They say I'm a natural born pessamist
And that's ****in wild
Must've come with my mother's smile
And father's bullheadedness
I pull ahead and get pulled back,
But I keep struggling
Son, I feel like I couldn't catch a break beat juggling
Still I reach upward and on,
And proceed trudging along"

"Now, when you go this long uphill,
You lose the will to climb it
So, I wrote this song to remind me of the silver lining"

I find some wisdom in hip hop, few and far between granted, but I believe theres wisdom to be found in even the grittiest thugged rappers, its harder to put quotes on (for me at least) but its still there.

These lyrics delve deeply into the vicissitudes of life in a post-apocalyptic society, where meaning in music has been stripped, everyone stut ters, and all that remains is a desire for onomatopoeias. We have to get that "boom boom boom" now. There's only so much "boom boom boom" to go around.

Stakes Is High

Not sure if wisdom is the right word here but there have certainly been many well crafted and thought provoking lyrics in hip hop throughout the years.

Some of these lyrics spring to mind as I was only listening to this track the other day...

De La Soul - Stakes Is High

POS:
The instamatic focal point bringing damage to your boroughs
Be some brothers from the east with some beats that be thorough
Got the solar gravitation so I'm bound to pull it
I gets down like brothers are found ducking from bullets
Gun control means using both hands in my land
Where it's all about the cautious livin'
Migrating to a higher form of consequence, compliments
Of strugglin', that shouldn't be notable,
Man every word I say should be a hip hop quotable.

DOVE:
I'm sick of bitches shakin' asses
I'm sick of talkin' about blunts,
Sick of Versace glasses,
Sick of slang,
Sick of half-ass awards shows,
Sick of name brand clothes.
Sick of R&B bitches over bullshit tracks,
Cocaine and crack
Which brings sickness to blacks,
Sick of swoll' head rappers
With their sicker-than raps
Clappers and gats
Makin' the whole sick world collapse
The facts are gettin' sick
Even sicker perhaps
Stickabush to make a bundle to escape this synapse

POS:
Man life can get all up in your ass baby you betta work it out
Let me tell you what it's all about
A skin not considered equal
A meteor has more right than my people
Who be wastin' time screaming who they've hated
That's why the Native Tongues have officially been re-instated

(Vibes....vibrations)
Stakes is high
(Higher than high)
You know them stakes is high
(Higher than high)
When we talkin' 'bout the
(Vibes....vibrations)
Stakes is high, you know them stakes is high
When we dealin' with the
(Vibes....vibrations)
Stakes is high
(Hey yo, what about that love?)

POS:
Yo, it's about love for cars, love for funds
Loving to love mad sex, loving to love guns
Love for opposite, love for fame and wealth
Love for the fact of no longer loving yourself, kid
We living in them days of the man-made ways
Where every aspect is vivid,
these brothers no longer talk shit
Hey yo, these niggas live it
'Bout to give it to you 24/7 on the microphone
Plug One translating the zone
No offense to a player, but yo, I don't play
And if you take offense, **** it, got to be that way
J.D. Dove, show your love, what you got to say?

DOVE:
I say G's are making figures at a high regard
And niggas dying for it nowadays ain't odd
Investing in fantasies and not God
Welcome to reality, see times is hard
People try to snatch the credit, but can't claim the card
Showing out in videos, saying they cold stars
See, shit like that will make your mama cry
Better watch the way you spend it
'Cause the stakes is high

Y'all know them stakes is high
When we talkin' 'bout the
(Vibes....vibrations)
Stakes is high

I think that smiling in public is against the law
'Cause love don't get you through life no more
It's who you know and "How you, son?"
And how you gettin' in, and who the man holding
Hey yo, and how was the scams and how high
Yo what up, huh? I heard you caught a body
Seem like every man and woman shared a life with John Gotti

POS:
But they ain't organized!

DOVE:
Mixing crimes with life enzymes
Taking the big scout route
And niggas know doubt better
Than they know their daughters
And their sons
(Oh boy)

POS:
Yo, people go through pain and still don't gain
Positive contact just like my main man
Who got others cleaning up his physical influence
His mind got congested
He got the nine and blew it
Neighborhoods are now hoods cause nobody's neighbors
Just animals surviving with that animal behavior
Under I who be rhyming from dark to light sky
Experiments when needles and skin connect
No wonder where we live is called the projects
When them stakes is high you damn sure try to do
Anything to get the piece of the pie
Electrify
Even die for the cash
But at last I be out even though you wantin' more
This issue is closed like an elevator door
But soon re-opened once we get to the next floor where the

(Vibes....vibrations)
Stakes is high
Y'all know them stakes is high
When we talkin' 'bout the
(Vibes....vibrations)
Stakes is high
Stakes is high, come on
