People that have the UAD usually use the fairchild emulation.

Doesnt Waves have something useful to consider perhaps?Maybe within their Plat or Diamond Bundle............if u got the cash to spare.I've heard some luvly results from that software.Mind you, I've been stunned by what ppl have been doing with T-Racks......as its analog modelled as well.Nice warmth.

Also, that C4 is pretty interesting too.Have u tested the soundshifter as yet? Some producers I know use this tool with some superb results.Lossless shifting.Truly brilliant pitching.

You the uad card, go with that. You spent your hard earned money on it and they are excellent first class plugin's to me. The pultec eq should do a lot of justice. Not a big fan of the fairchild but it can be very useful in boosting the mid range, and to me, the LA-2 plug is a must for vocals. You can use the 1176 plug but the la-2 is far more better sounding. Use what you bought and learn it. Don't be suckered into buying things b/c this person and that person use's it. You have a perfectly good set of plugin's that actually made me stop using the waves bundle, but hey thats my preference. Good luck!

Oh yea, far as settings, use your own judgement. Play around, theres never that one setting that sounds good on everything. You leave and you learn and you get better. Thats my outlook on things, but hey what do i know.....i'm not a famous producer, but guess what? all started at the same level...............

I don't beleive that is correct. Also, Tim doesn't mix any of his own stuff, Jimmy Douglass does. I could tell you a list of all the plug-ins they use, but then I would be shot.

I remember an issue of remix with Missy on the cover that listed some plugins that were Tim's secret weapons...some freeware plugins from europe or something...I tried searching for them on the internet and couldn't even find some of them.

Oh, and if you are using audiounits, the Apple Multiband Compressor that comes with OSX10.4 is suprisingly very good sounding.

Yes. I have all those plugins but they don't do me any good because they're for PC only...

Ya'll talking about those blue plugins that the one kid from Germany or Sweden was making? Those were some hot ones. I can't remember exactly what they were called, but I remember they were free!
