ASR-10 SCSI Drive Install

Approximately, how much does it cost to install an SCSI port into an ASR-10? I was quoted $200 by a local dealer. Does that sound about right? Thank you.

$200 seems fair to me. I have not done it but even opening up an ASR 10 is a project. If you don't feel confident doing it yourself, I doubt you will get cheaper than that.

Have you played with Lego?

It is about that easy to do with the exception of the amount of screws you need to remove and put back.

Find someone who has owned an ASR they will probably do it for a 6 pack.

If you found one as a kit... I would get that immediately. You won't find this at Guitar Center that's for sure. They were in short supply even when the machine was new, and the best option was to buy a machine that already had it..... There have been a couple of people that have engineered their own, but those are few and far between. Again, if you found one snatch it up because it may be a while before you see another without buying an entire unit that has one...
