Live Sound HipHop Beats with rapper/singer not sound like karokkee

Live Sound HipHop Beats with rapper/singer that does not sound like karokkee
What are the do's and don'ts
(besides that you think i shouldn't do it at all (ha ha ha...)
1) mixing in the studio differently??
2) Mixxing vocals in
3) no Muddy Bass but still have thuds
4) working with different systems

I know there are no sure answers but any tips would really help me out

Don't run the beat off of an iPod, a crappy cd player, or something else that has a shitty output.
