Best Headphones for Under $200

So im looking to get some headphones for Listening to Music (I listen to mainly Rap hip hop and Metal/Rock, and some others such as funk, reggae, dance etc.) , and i also do some producing so i will need some headphones with a good bass response but also good on the mids and highs.

Ive read that these are good

Amazon.com: Audio-Technica ATH-M50 Studio Monitor Headphones: Musical Instruments

Any other reccomendations though?

I have those and they are amazing. You have to burn em in tho the longer you use em the better they get.

Try the M-Audio Q-40's, they have better or more accurate Bass than the AT's...At's have a bass bump that can affect final mixes.

Somebody get the ATs from brianf on eBay and find out what his lowest price is just so I can kick myself in the tail.

I just ordered some per many recommendations here and did a best offer of 90 bucks after seeing someone post that you could offer 95 (BIN price was $104). After my bid went in it informed me that he had something like 140 pair on hand. Probably could have offered fifty and got my pair.

-This was the straight cord "ATH-M50s" version.

Well up to $85 was declined so I will use my price match of $99 and buy them elsewhere.

IBE- The 90 actually was OK and accepted. I was just wondering if it got much lower. Guess not from your turned down 85. :(

Hope they're all everybody says they are. Was about to get a second pair of Grado SR-60s then figured I'd give these a shot.

Thanks!

So far, so good on my brianf ATH-M50s's off eBay. They make a nice tight seal (better than my closed-back Sony MDR-V600), but the padding is comfortable enough where it doesn't seem like it will be a problem. Physically, they also have way less of the creaky plastic sound of my Sonys. Bass sounds heavier than my Grados, but I do have occasional issues with overly heavy low end mud on mixdowns I've had to do on phones, so hopefully these ATs are letting me hear some of that and their mixes might translate better.

Take care, and thanks all here for the tip off!
