Going through an old cassette collection...

I came across my old copy of Camp Lo's "Uptown Saturday Night" (1997). Damn these dudes have a unique style. Even though its a standard 90's braggadocio record, they do it in a manner that stood apart from the rest of their time. It made me go buy the album on iTunes. If you never heard it I highly suggest it. Anyone felt this record then or now?

They were big at the time, atleast for that era, I didn't really feel them but they definetly had a unique style they were part of the tail end of the golden era I would say though not a mainstay.

I was in Vegas recently and I just kept playing that album over and over. I've bought it at least 3 times since it came out. The first one, this chick I was feeling asked to borrow it and never gave it back. I still hold a little grudge over that.

It's a classic in the sense that the first two Clipse albums are classics.

You know what I just want to shake your hand.
Finally a person online saying ''go on buy some music because its top''
rather than being a thief and saying ''download it here''
I love going through old tapes you find some right gems that just make you remember why you write music back when it was worth something.

I liked that shit but their second album didn't do well at all. I had the single, wasn't feeling it and never checked it. Now I'm kind of interested how it was.

How did the cassette hold up? I have boxes but I'm afraid for my tapes.

Whats the sample on "Black Connection"? There was a hot R & B track with that a few yrs back. And i think Kanye flipped it on Scarface/Smitty "Ghetto".

On "Swing" is that the same piano sample Teddy Riley used on Queen Pen "Man Behind the Music"?

Is there a sample on "Coolie High"? the chords kind of remind me of the ones Teddy Riley used on Blackstreet "Good Lovin" and Positive K "Black Cinderella"...

I felt the same, the second didn't do it for me.

To be honest, the tape sounded quite good. It made it through the years along with Artifacts, Organized Konfusion, Showbiz & AG, and so many more.
