idk i dont think i did anything wrong. just was thinner and softer. i can distort my drums on my 2000 and it still sounds good. the 5000 however had lots of features and NEVER froze or acting buggy the entire day i had it. i like the the simplicity of the 2000 load up samples bang track.

Previous news that I had gotten this way were all correct so I did not suspect anything but it turned out wrong this time.

Just wanted to point that out seeing that this thread was started by me.

Sorry guys, I'll be checking my sources very closely before making any future claims/statements.

i find the 4k to be a bit complex for what i want to do personally. they are not really the same beast. Imo they are no where near the same.

It's just a question of perspective. If you look at Maschine, that is a hardware drum sampler from a mainly software company.

Best description, the borderline between software and hardware IS dying.

hahha exact

In five years people will be saying how ****ing sweet and vintage that synth sounds.. I got one and if you can get sound usable samples from that synth mixed with the effect your a ****ing moron and have no talent.

many times i find that when i mix my song in the 5000 its sounds much better than a multi tracked session in samplitude 10 through rme gear and speck pres.. I d K why but it definatly works and is fast and useful.

Hardware like the MPC is not convenient/versitile as software as times but i will say it sure as hell make you much closer to the project and gives you an innate connecting more so. I dont think its going to even die because of that.. If forces your to take the time and really mix/think your music.. Ableton or the like on the other hand while great tools, essentially put you in the mode of getting sloppy. Because its so easy to throw tracks,fx and synth everyware many times at the expense of over all sound and tightness of the song. less of good is more than more than bad on many occasions.
