| Gear maniac | Need Some Serious Expert Help Please!!!
Im in need of some serious expert help. I have my drums going through seperate outputs on my MPC and through my RME ADI-8 Pro 8 channel convertors and my RME Sound Card. When ever i play a stereo sample from the mpc out output 3/4 for example and going through my convertors the sample envelopes and the sound is constantly changing from sounding more open then closed then open. Its really weird. This only happens when going through my convertors and Sound Card and only on a stereo sound. If i play the stereo sound from just the mpc and not going through my convertors and Sound Card the sample is fine and it stays normal without changing envelopes. This only happens when playing a stereo sample from my mpc through my convertors and Sound Card and a mono sample plays just fine. So im really really STUMPED on what his can be.Im using a mpc 3000. Can anybody PLEASE help me out im really stumped and nobody i know can help me They're stumped too. Thx. |

One of your channels is 180 degrees out of phase. (likely) Try new cables... or it could be the card, fan out cable from the card, bad connector on the MPC, or 1/4 jack not pushed in all the way. | |

putney, thanks for the help, what do you mean by fan out my sound card or a bad connector on my mpc? See the stereo samples plays normal for a few seconds then goes out of phase for a few then back to normal for a few, then out of phase for a few secs ect. I tested this on every channel in the soundcard and outputs on the MPC and it always goes in and out of phase. But my Mono sample works just fine going through my convertors and soundcard. My stereo samples work fine when not going from my MPc 3000 into my convertors and soundcard so i dont have a clue what is going on. My soundcard monitors so i figured i would try to record the stereo sample going in and out of phase into cubase and see if it recorded like that and it still recorded in and out of phase. Im really stumped and need a solution fast i have projects due and this really sucks. |

are you turning the volume down on the main outs when assigning to the seperate outs?

Hey guys thanks for trying to help. I figured out the problem. In my sound card and in cubase instead of the stereo pair panning being all the way to the left on one side and all the way too the right on the other the stereo pair was right in the middle on both sides like a mono channel should be and that was causing the phase problem. Thx. |
