Need some help with MPC and Logic 8

So here's the deal, I know there have been a lot of these threads concerning midi, logic, and mpc's, but I'm still not totally clear on what works in my situation.

I have an MPC 2000xl, a radium 49 keyboard, a macbook and I'm running Logic 8.

I need to get my tracks off the MPC individually and dump them into their own tracks in Logic, so I can bounce them onto my hard drive a finished songs. My radium has one midi in and one midi out. If someone who is midi savvy could help me through this process, I would be quite appreciative.

Thank you much.

The MPC has enough MIDI I/O to sort of customize it to your liking.

In your senerio, I would hook your midi I/O from your soundcard to "B" on your mpc. It doesn't matter if you choose "A" or "B", I use "B" as I use other midi devices more often than my computer. Hooking your midi out from your computer to your midi in on your mpc, as well as hooking your midi in on your computer to your midi out on your mpc lets them communicate with eachother.

Then, simply hook your midi out on your Radium to your midi in on your MPC. If you use what I said above, you would hook it up to your "A" on your mpc. This lets you record midi notes off your keyboard on your mpc and sequence them. You can also hook your USB cable up to your computer for both power to the controller, plus the ability to use it as a controller for Logic, without having to use the MPC.

This setup will allow you to track your songs out to your computer, use your midi controller to control your mpc, use your midi controller to control anything on your computer through usb, and let you control anything on your computer using midi on your mpc.

Check this site out.

Akai MPC Forums - View topic - Tip: Using Logic Pro 8 With Your MPC4000

It really helped me out when I was trying to sync up my mpc5000 with logic 9.

Hope it helps.
