Recording Session Trouble

This isnt about gear,But its about a experince i had yeaterday with a local dude ..Anyway

So i was working on a little beat just a idea nothing majior. And a local raper called me and asked me if he could stop by.When he gets here he hears the little tune im making and says whos that beat for and i say nobody its just somthing im f..ucking around with.He says i got this hook in my head that will fit that beat.He raps the little hook and im like yeah sounds pretty decent so i cut the mic on he does the little hook.Okay on to the first verse he runs into trouble we stopped and i was moving parts around and what not after about 2 or 3 hrs of doing this.He could not get the verse correct so i suggested grab the pen and pad write it down he refuses so im like cool.So i stopped everything and told him ill hook up with him later.Aiight cool so he calls again today wanting to finish the idea up.Aiight so we recording the same verese again that we did the first time to correct it.He messes some parts up and i stop the beat to go over those parts again. So he says why u keep stopping the beat so i reply with i see where u messed those parts up and thought u wanted to go over them again.Okay so we finally get through the first verse 2 hrs later. Now he says lets do the adlibs for the whole entire beat and im like arent we gonna do the 2nd verse first then do the adlibs. He says no i want to do the adlibs then ill come back and do the 2nd verse okay again cool.So we doing the adlibs and what not and we play it back he likes it.Okay i say lets lay down the idea for verse 2.We get to recording verse 2 and 2 of my other friends come in and he still doing his thing in the booth he finishes i play it back its not correct. My other 2 friends ask about the song and who was rapping and who made the beat i stated who dude was and i made the beat and i stated the song wasnt finished and the beat wasnt really a beat yet and i didnt really care to much for the beat.So the guy that was rapping says f..ck it take my vocals off of the song. Now im like okay so i took the vocals off the song .Then he makes a comment about how i shouldnt be playing with ppls music that ppl take there music seriously. Now Im like holy shit this dude is trippin,I replyed well u asked for me to take your vocals off the song and i did so whats the problem i erased it all.Now he says let me have the beat and im like no he the beat stays with me its mine.He replys if u didnt like the song why u have me wasting my time.I say theres nothing wrong with your lyrics its the beat im just not feeling my part.Im like hold up dude first of all u asked me if u can get on my little idea that i had going i never said this was gonna be a set in stone idea. After a while my feathers got ruffled and i ended up giving dude the beat so he could just get the **** out .So he then says im going home and work on it and come back lol im like i dont want to even hear the beat again.

This was my first experince in dealing with someone like this and wanted to know what u guys do dealing with these type of ppl? I mean dude didnt pay me anything there was never a fee involved im just wondering how this type of scenerio plays out in the real studio world.

All part of the learning curve dude. I hate to say it but your gonna have to go through this sort of shitty situation MANY, MANY times so you best get used to it lol.
A few things to remember though:

-even though you made the beat and your at your spot, never just stop a recording cause you didn't think it sounded good enough. If your in a real studio and you did this you'd be in shit lol. Wait for your client to tell you to bring it back.

-as the producer of the beat, don't just give up and give the beat to him. Stand your ground dude.

-if you don't like how the session is going then hold your breath. I understand there was no money involved but it sounds like your getting your learn on and even though the rapper might have sucked, your still learning valuable info from just recording people.

-artists think they are all the next Jay-z or Lil Wayne. Just find a tactful way to get them to write their ideas out. You were on the right track trying but there is always a way to get that done.

Anyway, keep on keeping on man. It's a long road ahead but a really fun one!
