is the mpc 5000 worth the money

from using acid pro for 8 years and reason for 3 years ,im just sick of the computer,i find my best material being created on a radioshack keyboard with a 6 track sequencer, the way i just groove out and get in a zone is just more comfortable for me,i prefer a all in one workstation, i wanted to know what you guys think of the mpc 5000? im gonna use reason still for sounds, but i want something in the box with out glueing my eyes to the laptop.I also was looking for a second hand 1000 just to see if its what i want. But the features on the 5000 look pretty nice especially the effects and mixing capabilities and the external cd burner option so i can do alot in the box.

does any body on here own one and would recommend it?

edit what about a 2500 with the newest jjos expanded ram and a cd burner...1100$

You mentioned you gonna still link it back to a PC nonetheless right?

Then try to get your hands on a MPC 1000. This will give you the basic sampling/sequencing in the box if that's what you want.

Otherwise, you can got the PadKontrol/Trigger Finger way... Still using a PC for everything, but you can then jam on the pads whenever you feel like it. I've got the Korg one and am very happy with it so far in the last nearly 2 years I've had it now. Pads are solid and feel great, while the touch pad control is great for rolls!
