MPD32 & Logic/Battery

Anybody got experience with a mpd32 and logic8/battery
It's workin' but i dont know how to learn the parameters and knobs..
and the samples i got in battery in padbank A are on padbank B of the mpd
and the samples i got in battery in padbank B are on padbank D on the mpd
Is there a way to logically get the samples in the same padbank in the mpd as in battery
and velocity adjustments, do i have to do it in the mpd or in battery?
plus i followed a serious instruction placed on internet special for the mpd32 and logic, but i can't get the note repeat workin'....

it would be nice if some-one can help me..

thanks

i have them but i dont work with em no more. actually i like ultrabeat more than battery and i also dont use the mpd no more. instead i use the step sequencer in ultrabeat with some adding drum programming. the mpd + battery didnt give me a good workflow imo

Yeah setting up thru the MPD is pretty complicated.

Long time ago I programmed my MPD basically for the pads to correspond the pads in Battery. In the manual there is a section that explains how to learn pad notes via the MPD interface. So I have a preset on the MPD called Battery, when I use that preset it doesn't matter what bank Battery uses, the pads correspond anyway. Don't use the presets already in the MPD, start from scratch. If you don't have the manual, I might be able to list the steps, it's prolly the same for 24 and 32.

Trying to get a MPD preset for every Battery preset/program would be hard and maybe overkill.

Velocity is the main reason I stopped using MPD to punch in beats, it's just not natural, not sensitive enough, it is not an instrument. But if you have velocity layered samples set up in Battery, it's easier and sounds better, but you end up adjusting the midi by hand a lot.

I also had d/l this for the MPD24 awhile ago. Seems nice, but I haven't gotten into it. Might wanna give it a shot.

There was this video on youtube where a guy showed how to make the pads of the mpd more responsive. I followed his instructions and it really helped. The trick is to put layers of electric (insulation) tape underneath the rubber pads so that the pads can get triggered more easily since you minimize the space that is between the pads and the pad sensors. In order to do so you need to open up the mpd (in my case it's the mpd24). On MPC-Forums there is a thread on how to replace the mpd24 pads and there are pictures of how to open up the mpd24 :

After I did this, the MPD24 got so much better! Now I'm able to record 32nd notes without a problem! And the pads are so much more responsive than before!
