Check My Hip Hop track

Gimmi some feedback on this track. This is my beat with a UK rapper on vocals. Tell me if you think it sounds good. Try and guess my mic chain aswell.

Cheers

Hey, I think the vocals are a little low in some parts, but other than that i like it. I really like english rapping for some reason. real good.

Keith.

Yeah nice track bruv.....

I'm from the UK and find a lot of UK cats ain't got that intresting tone to their voice (his actually makes you want to listen to the subject matter), they either sound over hyped or just plain bored.

He got a good flow there...and the tracks got a nice vibe...If you don't mind I'd be intrested in what gear you used..In the box or outboard...plugins or ananlouge processors?...It's got a good warm sound..another thing I find missing form a lot of UK cuts.....ok ok I'll get off ya #ick now!

Safe man. Yeah I work with him because he's charismatic...unlike 99.999999% of the UK hip hop artists now.

I have a budget studio really. We used a U87-AI into a Focusrite Voicemaster pro (with a digital expantion card) straight into my Yamaha O1X. That's it really man. No nice analogue gear here!

I used WAVES R-comp on vocals. Other than the Low cut on the mic, there was no EQ on the verses. On the Chorus adlibs I used the Amplitube plugin. I used a simple (free download) Analogue Delay on the verse Adlibs which were panned Left n Right 50/50. Then I just added sum WAVES R-Verb (vocal plate) on the whole vocals. Pretty simple but effetive.

By the way, I do have my own mic booth that I crafted myself. That possibly helps. I do plan on getting a Great River Mic preamp very very soon.

A man, nice track, great flow and delivery, great use of stereo. I would suggest a little more bells and whistles on the beat to match the artist. It seems like the artist is outshining the beat a little. And the levels need a little adjusting. Vocals and bass need more balance between them.

Other than that, everything is fine. Did you use any outboard converters?

you got it..so look after it!

Mix is a bit out..really get the balances down.
Get sober and spend some serious daylight on mixing!!
A few drum arrangement changes and an extra riff for the
flavour (rhythm gtr and some fx splash from keys or samples)
Also a female vocal line?
The arrangement needs to be maxed out to please on the radio.

The mix is a little out of whack..lower mid is muddy probably because the main riff is too loud and vox too quiet..
I dont know!!..ahhhHHhhhhaaaaa nice nice nice..nicely does it.
Dress this to impress and it might be a good move for you.
Good luck..do more..be critical and backup your data!!!!!!!!
