only ONE Vocal/Instrument Tracking chain

What are you using and how far do you take it? Do you line up a Pre then a compressor than an EQ then high endconverter in line for all your tracking. Obviously, this is for home studio tracking, not full studio tracking. In that situation you would be using different gear for each instrument depending on the source. More and more are tracking at home and mixing in a studio. So getting the best source at home is crucial. So I have a pre with shelving and or LP HP filters on each end with only 2 freqs each. so everything is kinda being kut in the same freq, unless I just turn the EQ off. So, I wanted to add a parametric to my signal. I have this as a chain... Langevin DMMP,->FATSO-> and then a Lavry converter.

Basically what are you using for a home studio situation that is pass everything thru type signal chain. I have contemplated getting another Pre like an aurora or possibly sticking with the langevin and getting a 550b for EQ and color. what are you using as a pass all? I am worried about using shelving as a pass all on all tracks and thought about switching up my chain before tracking vocals and instruments from midi tracks.
