Thread Starter | layering (what method do you use)?
ive been trying to layer alot of sounds in cubase lately, and i noticed that there is many ways to do it, just curious what the general concensus for the fastest and most efficient way to do this is right now im just copying midi track and using 2 instances of battery (if i want to layer drums) but im concerned that this might be unnecessary and use up too much memory having so many instances open also, its a big limiting, like, say i want to take 3 different string sounds and have them grouped together, so i can trigger then all at once with one note, and also have them pitch tracked, so when i go up the keyboard they all go up in pitch at once, how could i do this? multisample in kontakt? or create 3 midi tracks and make sure all their root notes are aligned? i know in fl studio theres a group layer type function that will take layers from various places and combine them into one note strike but i havnt been able to figure it out in cubase anyway, any advice on how you personally layer drums or instruments is welcomed, thanx |

Can you not use Battery in Multichannel mode? you should then only need 1 instance of that, and be able to do all the layering of drums you want.
