Thread Starter | multing & panning
How much panning you folks do on mults? To date, I've basically just mult'ed stuff that's pretty much dead center or one specific location in the mix (kicks, snares, basses), but I was listening to some Golden Age rap (EPMD's "I'm Housin'" specifically) and noticing how the Aretha loop was actually mult'ed and panned so the hats were hitting different from where the snare was (I know I've heard this on Eric & Rak's "I Know You Got Soul" too), and it made me think that panning mults is something I should explore. Any thoughts? Peece, T. Tauri |

Hmmmm...wish I'd thought of that, sound like a good way to really use the sample, I would pobably make a few copies of it on everal tacks and then filter out to get one with the bottom end..one with the snare and then one with the hats lets say...and then pan the hats off center and may add some other hats panned opporsite, then mix to taste. Think I would still keep snare and kiks and bass in the centre though. Might try this soon see what happens.
