kanye's got ego 4 days...

from usa today, about his new album "late registration"

"music hasn't been taken this far in years - since stevie did it, since prince did it."

"i'm not trying to compete with what's out there now. i'm really trying to compete with innervisions and songs in the key of life."

its "only the future of music itself. only a dr. dre or a pharrell could even fathom accomplishing something like this."

"are you supposed to be humble? honestly. if you've got a whole crowd of people singing your song and you've got one critic saying this song is ok, well, you know you're right."

He's just hyping himself. I would do the same thing. He's building anticipation. Notice that comment has us talking about him. THats his goal

Even though Kanye comes off as arrogant and I'm pretty sure he does, considering that he was real close with Damon Dash. As NoSSL said, I think that alot of it is a marketing ploy, and it works...

The album isn't that good. I already peeped the leaked version. Artsy, fartsy, wierd arrangements. Sounds like a first album. It's worse than Eminems last album, well maybe about the same.

There's a track with Consequence and Cam, and a track with Brandy, but he blows it.

Kanye, remember Qtip, remember Blue Funk.

only hot songs is the maroon 5 guy one and maybe the cam one (towards the end) the one with paul wall aint bad too, but definetely its nothing revolutionary. also i was looking forward to hearing the more symphonic feel he was talkin bout but u can barely tell.

BTW, I think has just his ego got bigger, cause he is going to be on the cover of Time Magazine.

That's why I'm guessing EMI on the console and would also explain why some of the tracks could come off as artsy.

Jon Brion himself might challenge the title of this thread. Paraphrasing from mtv.com he said that anyone who would hand half the reigns of a project of this importance (sophomore album for a huge star) to someone who has never done a hiphop record is not an egomaniac.

I don't think Kanye's comments come off as arrogant. I think he just has vision. Doesn't mean this vision will come true but to belive is what keeps you going. Why bite your tounge when you believe something in your heart. I think too many people do this. Only say and do what they think will fit in with what the masses think is acceptable. These types are usually the first to come talkin bout they keepin' it real. If you don't voice your own opinion, express your own feelings and beliefs and only spit what the majority of headz expect, you are not real.

If you can't be real to yourself, how could you be real to anyone else? Just a thought.

No they are class A, you are thinking of 1081's....

1084's are basically the ultimate Neve Class A module.
