Check out this mix which i finished off this weekend and i did some mastering. Its a pop tune with sorta an rnb/rock ish feel.

I also hate how mp3 degrade the sounddd

Good track. Seems to me it needs some more deeSSing on vocal.
How much work was there on autotune/melodyne type of processing? in some moments artifacts can be audible...
btw last time I don't hate mp3s like I used to 1 year ago

THC - Certified

This is a new project that I've been working on, and would like constructive feedback on as to learn for future projects.

Have a Listen. It's called THC - Certified. It's an instrumental album. Raw beats. More in the vein of Madlib, Donuts, etc.

THC - Certified _MP3 Advance Copy_.zip - DivShare

Thanks!

I also have another one that is in my sig. It's only a few months old. You are welcome to have a listen to that too.

I'm a total novice but would appreciate some feedback on this track, in any fashion.

I did the music, tracking and mixing, and my friends are on the vocals.

Echo Audio fire 4 and my first time mixing a track in Reaper, I personally liked the results and workflow in comparison to Adobe Audition. don't laugh at me i'm broke!

I like the vibe, especially the Rhodes sounding keys.

Ok, Im doing the mixing, and arranged the chorus, harmonies and all. She wrote her own verse. I wanna know what y'all think of it, or what i should do. I didnt go TOO overboard w/ the eq, but den again, i probably didnt do enough, who knows? Im sure y'all will tell me.

cheers

That track is fire. Best original R&B track I heard on this site yet. Yes no autotune and she can sing. Man, wet those vocals with some reverb. Don't be chickenthumbsup

Anyway, to help you with the track, it's clean but I think it's just a TAD dark. There's some muddiness in the vocals that should be cut...might need a roll off.

The more I listen to it the more I swear you're my lil cousin...who also happens to go by the name "CB". Same exact style...

If you using media player try a boost of 6db at 8khz and boost of 7db at 16khz.

Why? iTunes is flat unless you change the curve...

I appreciate it man, alot, thanx. lol

and the harmonies, kinda took me a minute to map em out to aid the concept of the song. I feel like they turned out pretty decent. But thanks again man. But to your pleasure, yea she's single, I'll give her the word ;-)

Yeah I had the same thing in mind, especially on her verse vocals. I loved how her tone shined but wasn't quite sure how much bass to roll off. Will look into revising it.

CB huh... SAME style?

See this is why I'm so hard on you...lol.

Seriously tho...good job. I hear noticable improvement with every song you make. Sounds way better than my stuff at your age. Must be nice to have experienced older cousins who constantly give free advise and mentoring and such...

lol, alright.. I guess I have it coming most of the time

but thanx though man, really, when I first heard her vocals after i applied eq/compression/gate and all to it... i thought to myself "trell did this".. lol, even though u'd do it better, but you know what I mean. I'll probably need a bit of your guidance on my verse though... you've told me countless times about mixing my on vocals, but when there's nobody else down here of exceptional talent hardly, who else do i turn to? either you or just do em myself, right? so.. yeah
