Here's a couple of tracks I did in half-a-day each.
For this track I did two live jams (mpc, tr808, tr606, sh-09, ms20, dx9) recorded straight from the mix bus of my desk into Cubase and then very slightly edited/arranged:
For this one I sampled another one of my tracks through an Amiga1200 and chopped it up in my mpc2500:
Not strictly hiphop, but ruff and live.
Soundcloud's transcoding aint the best either. You can hear it mush a lot of the snare hits.
NEW BEAT. Just made this earlier. Some of that hip-hop soul mixed with a little mainstream 808 bumping at the end with chords and a modified orchestra.

50 cent's holding a remix contest for his Ghetto like a motherf***er song. He basically delivered his vocals, a sample and a soft kickdrum on 1 stereotrack.
The rest was added by myself. I'd appreciate your feedback on the production & the mix!

Those drums sound very nice. The samples are great, too. The only thing I'd like is a little more melody during the verse... maybe by letting the sample finish or chopping it up a bit.

I really like the contrasting speeds of the synths on this. That half-open-wah thing going on near the end is cool. Wish there was more of it.
Not sure what you're trying to do with this. Has potential though.
Well, I was listening to A Tribe Called Quest's ''Get A Hold''
And I just wanted try the whole filtering a vocal sample thing and make a beat out of it. I'm sure Dilla did more to the sample on Get A Hold than what I did on my beat. So that's what I was attemping to do with it.
CTodd901 The sample's ok, the pattern lacks velocity and sounds phony. I won't comment on the Mix-Off mix,
as I put up a mix on that thread also. People can check it out if they get a chance right here: Hip Hop Mix Off!
Pgathriller Hazardous Drums ok. Bass weak. Synth good. The kick's far too dominant. Allowing kicks / bass to
be big but work together is tricky. It's not easy to explain but it can be done. See my mix at that link up there.
Spotless Complex Complain Creative sample work. Drums cardboard-y. Just stwitch the drum to mono. Boom
Bbap totally mono can work just fine. This will also give room for the samples, to be wide and carry those sides.
kenn BigPondLittleFish Drums ok, kick needs sub. Bass & samples okay. Vocal well recorded. Rapper has skills,
the voice gets too 'James Hetfield' on the chorus. 'Hook' not quite catchy enough. The mix is cluttered at times.
sequela miami-flashback Not typical HipHop and that makes it great. Very musical construction with elements
of retro. Lacks subs. A dynamic mix though. Generally not too compressed. Nice chord choices and arrangments.
I have no idea what I'm doing!
Written, produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by me.
I think everything else here sounds so much better so any ideas welcome!
This track has alot of personality and that sir is worth mentioning. I like the hook, reminds a bit of early Outkast or Goodie Mob. Interesting arrangement, I like how there is a distorted vocal part in the middle of the song. Overall great effort!

Check me out above you!!

Didn't expect a response like that!
I had checked it before but I don't know what I could say. I am by no means a professional.
It definitely has a lot of emotion! (a good thing that I usually lack!) I'm assuming it was sampled? I like it a lot! The only thing I could think of suggesting is some of the drum samples sound a little clangy. Or maybe I just have something against that frequency range The rest of it sounds great - the bass sounds nice and tight and seems to fit in perfectly.
