I did a verse over Waka Flocka's "Hard In The Paint" instrumental... Rapped and mixed by me. (SN: I don't rap ANYTHING like Waka Flocka.. so don't get the wrong impression.. lmao)

"I'll Wait For You" is a beat I made in Logic 9. Currently writing for it now as a tribute to my late grandmother.

Let me know what you guys think.

I don't have monitors so I'm having a hard time hearing whats too loud and whats not. It's not 'mixed' at all. I'm still working on getting the sounds right. I'm using my laptop speakers as a reference.

Anyways, tell me what you think if you have a moment. the Good, bad and the ugly. It's cool.

that's pretty cool. digging the lofi synths and stuff. some constructive criticism: hihat panned left isn't working for me, but hey... they did this sort of thing all the time in the 60's when stereo was new. also, i think this particular song is calling for more low end in the vocals, during the verse part.

Maybe some delay or reverb to get the voice to sit a bit more comfortably?

Out There Like Me

This is a song a made a couple months ago, it's me on the vocals and my production as well, everything produced and mixed in Logic at my home studio. Im now sitting in a studio with a Pro Tools HD system with this song and re-doing the mix all over agian. Got some outboard gear as well as some sweet TDM plug-ins. Deadline is in a couple of weeks..

Please give some feedback on what you think could be done better this time.. Appreciate any thoughts on this..

peace

Video Game Beat

Maybe something violent, like GTA. I don't really keep up on gaming. After I finished it, I thought it would sound good on one, tho.

I'm digging this quite a bit. I like how the keys sit beneath the samples. I'd probably take out some of the "ah ah ahhs" in the chorus to let the vocal melody stick out more. And I've never been a huge fan of the pitch-correction effect I think I hear, but I guess that's what's making money these days. The vocals in the verse sound very nice.

Cool melody. I'm not getting too much bass from the kick, though. It sounds like mostly slap and reverb.

first real r&b tracking/mixing attempt lolz

my friend had me track and mix his vocals for this beat he found so i tried what i could with what i have...
hes a decent singer, kinda pitchy and he could have more controle but his tone is nice so LIGHT AUTOTUNE lolz
also the rap at the end is a freestyle so it isnt as great as it could be haha
i recorded the vocals in a large garage wit no treatment( fixing up the garage closet into a booth soon its perfect for it HAHA )
i used that new akg c 414 xlii ( not bxlii ) for tracking.
but tell me what you think

Thanks, the "aah aah" could def be cut out a bit in the chorus, i've heard other people say that as well, so i should proberbly go with that..

The pitch thing was a comprimise, I've never used it before in any of my songs but i felt it worked on this one, plus i can't sing that good haha so I had to smooth the edges out.. Cool u liked the verse, that's what's most important anyways.. thank's for your thoughts on this. peace

I like it a lot. The only thing that really bothers me is some of the stacked vocals. They just seem off in some places because it's distracting. Really smooth piece otherwise.

I really like that one Skreetz. It's more 'dense' than stuff I have heard from you before. I think you could get more clarity/separation between the elements of the track, and it would be more powerful as a result. The snare that comes in at 2:15 and 3:20 sounds too prominent to my ear, and a bit 'bolted-on'.

And Chris Martin is nice for a 16 year old, but not as nice as Yong 3rd, or the kid in the hello titty shirt on 'Teach me how...' Not that I am envious of your rapper hook-ups or anything.

Keep doing it.
