I recorded Godilla's verse at my spot but got the whole session was sent to me the day before the shoot to mix.... I pretty much had less than 3 hours to do the mix and the beat was a 2 track. I mixed the vocals pretty dry and upfront...
I did a cover of Chief Keef - I don't like. This is my first recording and I use a Samson CO1U with FL Studio. It doesn't sound perfect and was wondering what I can do to make it sound better. I used a compressor, limiter, EQ, and some reverb. I want to make it blend in more with the instrumental and chorus. Sounds kinda strange...I dunno.
im gonna regret this is the morning :(
this was recorded in same period as everything from my newest album
when we ****ed and drink and high and shit
i just need to attempt to mix them sober ....
i was considering cutting this because its so uinlike the rest
well not in sound but in content
I like it but the 808's ruined it for me. I'm not saying 808's wouldn't work but these were4 a lil out of pitch and really too round with the decay being to quick (for example) The beat itself had great parts, but the parts sounded too cut and pasted without any real transition.
You're getting good man.

yea it does lol. yo I never knew that was the song Lange west sampled!
OH ya power is a compelte rip. I thought everyone knew this. I still have a first print in immaculate condition sitting in my crates. Always loved King Crimson. The modern equivalent too Mars Volta. Lots of great stuff to sample.
Second i hear Duuum DUUm DUm i was like ahh yeh that joint.
how does thus 808 knock on your systems? it sounds good on my laptop and head phone
Sounds like they're all up in the mids to slight lower mids. Not really doing their thing like they should.. but there is a little knock there.. albeit unbalanced knock.

what do you suggest would bring up the presense of the 808? I don't know what albeit unbalanced means?

Hmm, they're definitely present. I'm missing the lower bass feeling. Unbalanced was not a major, I just meant some 808 hits are louder than others.. not a biggie though.
Mixed well I thought. Vocals were up inside the beat not just sitting ontop which is good. Ad libs echoed out nicely. Sounds good man. I'm no professional though.
And if you guys have any advice on limiting the beat, please help ty.
