I'm consistently impressed by the way you consistently drop good music.
Sounds real, man, maybe not quite woolly, gritty and fat as I would (personally) like the track to sound, but at the same time, thats not the point. Easy to listen to everytime.

Mixtape style. Vocals and a very compressed instrumental track. Came out solid though. Dude's got a solid home-grown buzz going. 3,000 hits ain't bad in three days with no publicist, no marketing team. Good one liners, very swagger ish style but keeps it witty.
That track is all good The guys vocal style carries the track very well. Could sound really good tracked out and mixed.

Thanks bro..... I just make music. I can't mix. I'm not going to bother myself neither. I'm a consumer now lol
First let me begin with a small intro about how I have gotten to this point. I started off with a SM7b, and Pro Tools 9 about 6 months ago on my journey of creating Hip-Hop/Rap music. My mixing and mastering at that point was extremely poor, and it took me about 4 months to fully understand the basics of mixing and mastering(Plugins, Panning, Compression, EQ etc.).
Now I believe I have a much more overall understanding of mixing and mastering, and have come a long way from 6 months ago. About 5 months ago I switched my SM7b to a AT4047, which I love so much! About 2 months ago, I then added a Presonus Eureka to my studio. It took me about till 1 month ago to really understand how to set up my Low, Mid, and High's, with exclusive help from killaninja from the chat room THX MAN! ... Now, I think I am pretty close to sounding professional on my mixes.
What my question is, without getting bashed about my genre's of music, or without extreme hate, can people please help me understand what else I can do to improve my overall sound? Here is a link to my latest released work... "Look At me Now" , www.reverbnation.com/protocallrecordz , also if you scroll down to songs such as... Stop The Party Remix, and Old Days, you will notice that was my original work with my SM7b and without my understanding how to mix and master is extremely prevalent. I am in the process of remixing and remastering on my new setup!
So if anybody can guide me into the direction of improvement, I much appreciate any positive criticism. Its the only way any artist/musician can get better. Also I would like to note, I DO NOT create the beats, and I am just asking for studio recording input. I am on the 2nd verse of the Look At Me Now track, the others were done in other studio's. Hope to hear back, and thank you for reading !
Here's a cover that I recorded a few months ago.. I produced all of the music except for the backing vocals (my sister helped me). Let me know what you think about the mix, eq, content, etc. You may need to crank up the volume a bit.

Not really hip hop haha but it sounds awesome. Great job.
Here is a beat I produced, and a in-the-box mix I did for the track. It's got some decent low end during the verses, and then a lot of orchestral drums and strings that build throughout the hook, leading back into the verse.
All mixing that I know I have basically taught myself through books, youtube videos, etc. So if any seasoned people on mixing ITB have some tips, critiques, tricks on what I can do to make my mix bigger and beefier....I would definitely appreciate it.
