Hai derrr! I've been coming to GearSlutz occasionally for a year or two now but only just signed up. Need help with this hip hop/electronic track (can't decide which genre it is more):
I've done a pretty basic mixing job on it but it is not the final one, so don't worry about that. Basically I think the synth sounds need beefing up a bit, and also the structure could use some work, and the vocal sample needs to be changed... Any tips from you guys would be appreciated.
Sup peoples, what you're about to experience is the latest release from Analog | Division.
We've been working countless hours the past month and a half to bring you our new project entitled, "GOLDEN".
When we came together for the idea of this project we wanted it to reflect our memories of the golden era.
The music that inspired us, television shows, video games and the movies that are eternally embedded into our memories.
Our goal was to make this project a soundtrack to those moments with our own twist on them.
The project features instrumentals and blends from some of our favorite artist.
Notorious B.I.G , Mc Lyte, Queen Latifah, Busta Rhymes, Das Efx, Rakim and more.
We weren't intimidated by the typical notion that blends/remixes ruin the essence of the original track.
We took it as a challenge to make the tracks as authentic as the originals.
Don't sleep, we're extremely confident in the final product. -- Oh4! & Trey Hemingway
Previews:
Stakes is Dangerous ft. Notorious B.I.G., Busta Rhymes & De La Soul (Produced By Oh4!)

i took a week off work and got high and drunk as **** as shit
pretty much recorded a whole album
but my mixing shit sucks
so here is a mix i did
i wanna try to see how i mix when i high
i think i dont put enough low and mids usually
so now i tried to keep it g-like
but heres one of them i recorded, at least the most mixed/fixed up
tell me how bad the mixed is
plz comment to help me be better mix because my mixing blows donkey cocks and i should probably just pay someone to mix it but i feel like then its not mine lol
yes i know the snares at the beggining arent consistent they wee something i was playing around with i didnt copy it thru the song yet
maybe i will maybe i wont, but the first half is the only part i really 'finished'
ety its a little long maybe i should half the chorus at the middle and the end or cut some part out of some vocal?
i feel its still missing some lower mid dirt, maybe high boost fault????
im gonan remix it
LOL **** i just realized it takes like 8 minute to export
Wow.... I just love how nobody comments on anybody's music.... :(
Sad, very very sad.
This page? sure. Keep checking up in here.. it will soon add up as to why. Actually there are a few reasons, one being that people don't really want or are looking for feedback specifically, they are just want you to listen to their music... a lil bit of self promotion. However there are a few here that I've missed tbh.
How about you start by bucking the trend? Comment away boss.

Yep, I stopped commenting and posting mostly because it became a waste of time. I also wanna get another body of work closer to completed before posting again.
Got to work on a fun project making 3 songs for a indie video game too.
My mixing is definitely improving, and I have a bunch of samples chopped and waiting to make new music...
I debated starting a new thread that was strictly for giving feedback on two songs for every one that you post, but then I remembered that whenever anyone tries to get something moving in this forum it either blows up in their face, or they get banned or something random.
Anyone know any good forums for interactive listening and feedback?
I agree, My Determination & System Overload are the best overall, but the best raps are probably on Never Given Up. Drum sounds on My Determination are miles better than the other songs too, very clean samples.
Mixtape style. Vocals and a very compressed instrumental track. Came out solid though. Dude's got a solid home-grown buzz going. 3,000 hits ain't bad in three days with no publicist, no marketing team. Good one liners, very swagger ish style but keeps it witty.
