I understand the frustration re: originality. I try to deliberately come up with crazy stuff from time to time, just cuz I get bored easy.

Thumbs up RE: newest cadi music

Whats up man,
I checked out the track, The mix sounded ok but the screwed up parts didn't flow. It seemed like it was forced and it kinda takes me away from the track as im vibin. The low's did not bang that hard either. Does it sound good in a whip? I like how u did the echo's in a different tone but some of em were off. I like the vibe of the track though man keep workin on it.

Drums do not bang anywhere near hard enough. Also, doesn't seem like there's a lot of lo's in this song whatsoever. No real bass line apart from the 808-ish kicks... vocals feel like they're mixed too loud, too. The whole thing just sounds a little thin, and I imagine you're going for the exact opposite with something like this.

New beat that came together quite nicely the other day.

Nails the sound that I am going for with my instrumentals; thick, mellow, melodic, with grimy snappy drums

Opinions appreciated

Hey guys. I'd like to share this mix not because i'm looking for opinions on how to improve it.......I'm sharing this to give you guys an example of how a well arranged song is always more fun to mix because as a mixing engineer I can worry less about the arrangement and more about enhancing what I have to work with.

The right elements were chosen, the mix has space and depth because each sound has a purpose and nothing is out of place. Of course i did some mutes and other things during the mix but my job was to take the song to another level, not fix what should have been fixed in the recording. This is something i preach on here all the time to people looking for ways to improve their mixes. A good arranged song mixes itself.

If you guys have any questions regarding the mix, let me know.

It's not hip-hop (but has my boy scratching on it). It's all over the place (skitsphrenic) BUT there's still something kinda cool about it, so I figured I post on this forum to get any kind of feedback.
Decided to revive this track and add some vocals. Hope you guys dig!

I'm not in the position to give constructive criticism. but this is what this thread is all about right?? the flow of the whole song isn't "smooth"??? I think you have 3 or 2 songs rolled into one. the beat kept changing without a smooth transition... I understand that was your creative process. Your musical arrangement is good. but for the most part (and I've listened to a number of songs in this thread) and you left me inspired.

88 BPM NADIM INTRO - Mische für Auftritt Hoodjam#1.mp3 // Load.to Uploadservice

I want to increase my skills in mixing, cuz I think i'm not good enough right now to get what i want.

The Instrumental isn't limited/mastered yet, cuz I#m feeling like killing my transients and the mix gets rubbish. So I'll let master it someone else, before i really do well masterings.

Please gimme feedback for the mixing of the Instrumental, so I can reflect.

First production piece

Hello,

This is the first "beat" I've ever made. I appreciate any eq/mix criticism you'd have to offer.

I sequenced all of this out via midi in PT LE (using the included "Xpand 2" VST). I really enjoy the sequences and arrangements, however I feel it's a bit "busy" and wouldn't lend itself to vocals. I'd like to know how to approach fixing that. I'm here to learn and be humbled. Thanks!

Sounds not bad.

I would disunite the snare and the bass drum, lower the middle of the highs or even hi cut to 4-5k hz, push the transients of the drums.

Then delay/reverb/chorus/.. the piano, because it's too present.

For have place for the vocals i would reduce the sax, maybe with delay/reverb or cutting out eq sections.

At the first moment, I didn't realize it's Hiphop, cause it feels like some kind of mixing rap, rock, pop, soul, etc.

But I like it!

some of the adlibs sound a lil high, the beat is a lil dark for me, and the vocals seem 2 obviously stacked (unless you were trying to get that vibe). some of the vocals seemed a little dark (low mids sound a lil high).

My 2 and a half cents
