i don't know if it's just me, but i love dvd documentaries that outline artists at work in the studio, showing the whole creative process, recording, mastering, etc etc. ive seen jay z's "fade to black" as well as a metallica documentary and really enjoyed watching them. just wondering if any of yall got any recommendations on some more dvds/videos/video clips along these lines?

the majority of 'fade to black' is a concert (which is no problem at all if ur a jay z fan, and even if ur not, its a damn good show), but the in-studio scenes are pretty damn nice too, giving you a glimpse of the recording of all his 'black album' tracks. id love to see more dvds in that format and yeah ill definitely dl that pharell clip |

There are a ton of great DVD's out there like that. Great. I have Pink Floyd- Dark Side, Mettalica, Red Hot Chili Peppers and a bunch of others. On the Dark Side DVD, they explain the makin of the loop for "Money". They thread the actually loop of tape through the tape machine and a around mike stand for tension. It was great scene. Talk about the lineage of loops, wow. I think Dark Side may actually be the first recording to feature a loop, but I could be wrong.
