Whats up everyone, I was just curious as to how many people have these pads and are they really that good? I'm thinking of getting some to help my mixes translate a little better but I'm wondering if they are worth the 40$. If anyone has any input in them I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks

I found that they made a noticeable difference especially in low frequencies. I was having problems with the monitors causing the mixing desk to buzz and shake all of the loose crap on the desk. The MoPads do help to decouple the monitor from the desk so you hear more monitor and less resonance. It will help to tighten up the bass and remove flappy sloppy bass resonances. Before I bought the MoPads I had some luck with putting 4 foam sponges under each of the corners of the monitor, but over time they got hard and compressed and stopped working very well. Primacoustic makes and even better option (for more money of course) that Andy Hong from TapeOp really likes. His reviews are top notch and I had the good fortune to hear some of his opinions and learn from him early in my recording career. Primacoustic - Acoustical Solutions

The MoPads are like an Art MPA Gold and the Primeacoustics are like an Avalon 737. They both do the same thing but one does it allot better. ![]() That's my deep thought of the day. Now I need to go meditate on mic impedance. ![]() ![]() |

I use them with my Mackie HR824's and have found a noticeable difference, i like them but that's not to say you will..... They are well worth the small price for what they can do but i haven't tried the primacoustics, maybe they are alot better i wi8ll have to have a look but the Mopads are well worth a look IMO!
