Adjust sample start in soft sampler via midi?

Does anyone know if theres a software sampler where I can select the sample via midi from my keyboard then use a midi cc to control the sample start. Meaning even if I trigger a different sample from my keyboard I can still adjust the respective samples start point using the same knob on my controller. Anyone doing something similar or a software sampler that would let me do this, I have kontakt but don't think its possible in there unless im mistaken. Thanks for any help. PZ

shortcircuit can do this. You can set a modulation source (for example the modulation wheel of your keyboard) and route this to the modulation destination "zone start". You can also set the amount. Oh and get the shortcircuit version 1.12 not the 2. There are some things the first version can handle better. peace

You can adjust samplestart in kontakt via midi but are only able to assign one knob to one samples start point. I want to have different samples mapped out across the keyboard and use just one knob to adjust the startpoint for whatever sample I press on keyboard. I dont think its possible in kontakt if it is can you please explain how to set this up ?

I do it all the time. When I get an opportunity I will send you additional info but you can probably figure it out. On the modulation tab you can assign sample start to a CC controller. Any key you press will adjust the sample start of the note you play. You can also limit the range of the starting position on the mod tab as well. Check it out. You may find it intuitive enough to figure it our yourself. Let me know if you suceed or not. PEACE!

To add to that, this is a great way of getting a stutter effect at different points within the sample by playing the note multi times in succession while move the CC control at whatever timing you choose. This is a way to do 'stuttering on demand'. Very cool effect.

I know how to do this in shortcircuit, but are you aware of how to make it so that the same knob will adjust the "zone start" of different samples (whichever sample is selected)? The only way i've been able to do this is by assigning a separate source to each sample. In this case the knobs and there cc's are the source, but it limits the number of samples you can use to the number of sources or knobs that you have on your controller. And you can't save there positions, (at least I don't know how to) so if you come back to a project and have moved your knobs, your samples will play from the new knob positions. This is inconvenient, but if there's no way around it, I guess that's all the more incentive to finish a track in one sitting! Or at least bounce your sequences to audio. Anyway, hope you're going to tell me i'm missing something. Thanks in advance.
