Ever used Native Instruments?

I was thinking about getting KOMPLETE 5. Does anybody have it? Is it worth the money?

Certainly is! No doubt about it. Excellent toolkit.

i have never used it.

but i have heard nothing but glowing reviews about it.

also, NI makes guitar rig.

this is a STELLAR plug in, they also make the FM8.

a terrific sounding 80's synth based on the DX7.

check 'em out

well, depends on what DAW you use. The NI stuff does sound really great, but most doesn't work very well as RTAS in Pro Tools...so beware...in fact, Kontakt 3 ISN'T even supported in PT!

I use KOMPLETE5 with Logic Pro for songwriting and composing, and I wouldn't want to work without it. It's completely worth its cost.

That is not true. Kore and all of its components work and are supported by PT. Kontakt work very well with PT. I highly recommend it.

No, KORE is not supported for leopard/PT , at least not HD. And it hasnt worked right for over a year and the last update NI gave was 11/4/08 . People have been asking for an update for a year now. dfegad NI

All they say is 'changing to 3 RTA's cpu's makes KORE work better' . Well, I'm here to say that in PT|HD is certainly does not. In fact, I cannot even have the KORE RTAs in my plugin folder or all of my RTAs VI's act up.

Quote:
From NI site, the only VI's qualified / supported for PT & Leopard:

ABSYNTH 4
B4 II
GUITAR RIG 3 (including XE)
REAKTOR 5
PRO-53

This is INCORRECT.

It's listed on the NI site. :(

JDN is correct in suggesting looking into compatibility with your host. This is NOT a cheap package. There are already a large amount of unhappy customers that have shelled out for this package that can't even use it due to incompatibilities with their OS/DAW.

If you don't have compatibility issues, the quality of the instruments is VERY good.

This back and forth about compatibility is all the more reason to get some quality hardware.

exactly and it's a dag-on shame! KORE player straight up crashes the sound engine on my PT rig and Kontakt player-based plugins give me errors/crashes too.

....why people continue to choose PT for sequencing and beat creation is so beyond me. so many other wonderful tools out there that are better, more flexible, and support all vsts with ease.

.....sorry had to drop in my $0.02, continue on.

I have to agree... What a lot of people don't know is that some of their favorite producers don't produce on PT... I know Timbo's camp was using Cubase for a while.. Brian Cox uses Logic... There are much better programs for creating music especially when its mostly ITB.. but ProTools will always be the standard for recording and mixing. and thats that mattress man.

And oh yeah... the topic at hand...
I bought Komplete 5 and I really think it should be standard in all production studios. With Komplete 5 and a DAW and nothing else you can without a doubt create professional sounding music. There is no software bundle that compares or competes with it. Battery is used in EVERY one of my tracks and is simply put the best drum sampler vsti on the market. Guru comes in a close 2nd. But read the descriptions for what all you get with Komplete. Its amazing. I have just started delving into Reaktor's user library. WOW. It could take you years to really grasp what all kind of tools you have within Komplete 5 and really get your head around them all.

NI sucks IMO. Buggiest software ever for me. I own 6 NI instruments and only massive is worthwhile.

search on ebay for some old komplete3 packages, vokator and the spectral delay are both worth the effort and both´re discontinued
its easy to upgrade several instruments too, if NI can reproduce a reported bug, .. big up for their customer care !! always good for me

regards

Wrong. NI is a broken down car that works partially and has no brakes. Check this on their forum to see how they've been paying attention to this matter: Native How Can You Do This To Us Protools Users? - Page 5 - NI User Forums

If NI could just spend their effort in making their products work!!! Instead of going and making new stuff like the maschine...

Yes, yes and yes! I'm not going to buy anything NI until they get their shit right.
I'm not paying for buggy software. Sure sounds good, though.
