damn sexy for sure! A lot slimmer than I thought it was going to be. Two things I have noticed that may end up being a deal breaker.

1. No Midi I/O

2. May not be bus powered.

From the looks of this picture, it looks like the APC40 will NOT be bus powered because of that DC jack on the back. I have mostly only seen a DC jack on controllers that can function without the use of a computer. With this thing having NO midi i/o's, but having a DC jack, that leads me to believe that this thing needs to be plugged in all the time.

I dunno if youve seen the stuff on max power for ableton
basically a function that lets you create your own effects.
mindblowing and complex looks like itll take some learning but
hell ILl spend days if I know I could make my own step synths
and stuff my own way... it just makes everyone do things different
and then.. say you make a step synth that is powered my midi notes
you can apparently use this controllers 40 buttons to push in the midi
notes based on what your grid is set at and where you select...
if that makes sence... basically midi grid squares at a time all you do is
push the pads... that wouldnt only speed up production but you could
also use this to make drum beats on the fly

live is definitely the most innovative software I've used for music creation bar none. Get it. I'm pretty sure this is the future of producing.
