he needs to follow his & old dirty's advice from a previous song.

"take autotune back to the store...we don't wanna hear that weak shit no more!"

That just makes you a useful session player.......alot of producers in the game are egotistical assholes, so if you get to work with a big one u gotta know how to handle it, or else youll end up walking out and missing out on future opportunities....

I Love the album from start to finish. It has a huge tribal sound, not to mention it's a brave move for a hip-hop artist.

The tempo is also pretty slow, which makes it all the harder to perform as a drummer.
lol where was the engineer, or the kick drum for a matter of fact?

You might as well stop posting dude your embarrassing yourself... saying your better than Kanye West then posting some amateur b.s.

There you go JR - Im with you.

All you haters don't know whats going to hit you. 808s is one of the top *pop* records of the decade. And with it KW enters the league of giants... Prince, MJ, Madonna - that kind.

But if you're just starting out in rap, it is something to be proud of. I was proud of every beat I made from the first one I made. In fact I was more proud of the first beats I made than I am of the beats I make now, which are 1000000x better.
Of course you could arrange it, if the samples and loops were in .REX files already. I think that's his point, is that they PLAYED it. That's where Kanye is (was?) great, as an arranger/sampler and a rapper. A musician is someone who plays music, Kanye does not, nor does he sing. Ones not better than the other, but they are distinct. That's why there used to be producers, writers, arrangers, musicians, vocalists, etc. credited on songs.

This beat is cool. The MC is hot. It could benefit from some hip hop treatment, though, since it's trying to fit in the genre--quantize/beat detect/edit the drums--they drag--go out. Tighten up the bass. Even though it's played, it needs to sound quantized-tight.

To say it's the rawest shit ever, is ironically, very Kanye West Though I would rather listen to this beat than hear Kanye not sing any day!

Other classic fail moments are the chorus at 4.00 & Estelles dress.

SO TRUE! That song is hot in so many, many ways, and the video is beautiful. But, it's funny you should pick a song where the piano and the bass are out of tune after a picky intonation comment...perhaps you couldn't tell?

U know, i remember noticing that when i first listened to this song back in the 6th grade, but over the years I guess i got used to it.

That fact that the bassline is out of tune just makes it even more "RAAAAWWW!" lol

i like the chord progression.
There seems to be a bit of a tuning issue that comes apparent at the end of the tune but i like the overall energy in the track and the live feel.
Keep it up!

I think a lot of people are calling out the kanye haters but not enough are realizing that they are on his band wagon. Almost the whole album is horrible, and to say that you like something because it is "brave" and "trying something new" is pretty dumb, just because it is something different, that doesn't make it special. all of the beats aren't simple but sound simple and don't make for a great listening experience. kanye can't sing at all, and his writing just keeps slipping every album. by the way "good life" also sucked very badly. kanyes first 2 albums were really good, beats were different but enjoyable, and his writing really made the first album. you say his new album has great lyrics, example please, because I cannot seem to find one in 808s and hearbreaks.

love lockdown

Im not lovin you, the way i wanted to
What i had to do, had to run from you
Im in love with you, but the vibe is wrong
And that haunted me, all the way home
So ya never know, never never know
Never know enough, til its over love
Til we lose control, system overload
Screamin no no no, no no

heartless

How could you be so, cold as the winter wind when it breeze, yo
Just remember that you talkin' to me though
You know need to watch the way you talkin' to me, yo
I mean after all the things that we've been through
I mean after all the things we got into
Hey yo, I know of some things that you ain't told me
Hey yo, I did some things but that's the old me
And now you wanna get me back and you gon' show me
So you walk around like you don't know me
You got a new friend, well I got homies
But in the end it's still so lonely

see what I mean horrible. so call me a hater, I'm not saying I'm better then kanye, obviously I am not, since he's ultra famous, and I am not known at all, but IMHO the album sucked.

.......yip sounds like he's put no thought whatsoever into those lyrics, cheesy cliched imagery with not one origonal insight........knocked out in the booth, between photo and fashion shoots I don't doubt and ego reinforced by Yes men.....shame on you, shows scant consideration for his audience........we're onto you Mr West.

Yeah, the album isn't the most intelligent, but I enjoy listening to it sometimes, so that's enough for me. I have plenty of other albums that say a lot more and don't do it for me overall. Sometimes you need one of those frivolous light listening moments.
