Subwoofer low-phase frequency setting question

What Frequency should I set the low-pass on my subwoofer when monitoring hip-hop music? I know Purists would say it depends the acoustic treatment of a room. But I just need a specific frequency between 50HZ-130HZ. Thanks in advance for everyone's opinion.

What do you mean by "low phase"???
There is a crossover setting which varies according to where you want your sub to kick in.
Set it at 90hz and you shouldbe fine.
Just dont make the mistake of cranking your sub too loud.
Thats not what its for.
Its to determine the frequencies heard below the crossover point.
Advice..if you know nothing about its propper use, dont use it.

Im sorry I meant low-pass. Yea I know, i keep the sub volume at the lowest possible point. to me thats loud enough. and I have my monitors volume slightly louder than that. I just wanted to know the ideal or most common setting for modern rap/hip hop. Thanks man

I would think that the proper low-pass setting for the sub would depend on the actual in-room bass response of the mains. The actual in-room bass response of the mains will probably not be the same as what the specs say, as they may be getting either more or less boundary reinforcement (room-induced bass boost) than the specs anticipate. Use your best guess of the in-room -6 dB point of the mains as a starting point for the low-pass filter setting, listen to music that you are familiar with, and adjust from there. Don't forget that the polarity or phase control can help you get a better blend - try it both ways.
