| Battery 2 to Battery 3 question Here's my situation: I have some Pro Tools sessions with Battery 2, containing midi parts that I have not tracked to audio. (As such I have no idea what samples or even what kits were used.) Here's my question: If I upgrade to Battery 3, will it automatically load over Battery 2, enabling me to see what kits were used? I have all these midi tracks and have no way of knowing what samples were used. If this isn't possible maybe I could email someone here the PT session, and they could open it and tell me the name of the Battery kit that was used so I can hunt for the samples. Hopefully this post makes sense and someone understands my dilemma! |

| Lives for gear | Nope. Save your kits in Battery 2. Open the kit in Battery 3. It will load your sounds. Route the old midi tracks to the kit that you loaded into Battery 3.

| So if I open a session that had Battery 2 there is no way to know what kit I had loaded? That sucks for me. :( |

| Lives for gear | If you open a session that had Battery 2, then the Battery 2 plugin should load with the kit. If you want that kit to open in Battery 3 to get rid of the Battery 2 plugin or something then do the following: 1. save the kit in Battery 2 if it has not already been saved 2. open Battery 3 and load the kit 3. Set the midi out to the Battery 3 plugin The old session still loads the Battery 2 plugin right?

| << The old session still loads the Battery 2 plugin right? >> Thanks for helping me with this. The thing is, I upgraded to the current version of Pro Tools which does not support Battery 2. My old computer died (bad motherboard on G4) so i had to get a new system. Looks like there is no way I can find out what kits and/or samples were used unless I find someone running an older version of PT and Battery 2. |
