i dont know about the Kirk Hunter stuff, but the EWQL Symphony orchestra is SICK. The most realistic orchestral collection, period. The interface is really good as well, but it is an absolute hog for power. I just upped my ram to 14 gig so i could load EWQL sounds into ram instead of streaming from hard drive. but wow. stellar

I have the EWQL Gold edition. Bought it on it's first "half off" pricing about 4 years ago. i love it. i do plan on upgrading to the Platinum version soon. It's gone down in price too I believe. I haven't used the Kirk Hunter set either but I really don't see how it could be better than EWQL Gold.

start with the silver package it should do fine for you. The larger packages are only necessary for more intricate string arranging which I doubt you need.

I am a big fan of Kirk's libraries. They are very playable and good sounding.
