| cheapest acceptable DJ mixer for scratching? Hi there, i'm on a seriously tight budget on this. i've been searching digital village and ebay for the cheapest dj mixer (i only need 2 channels). and there are a surprising amount under £100. Behringer for example have a few. but are these worth it? or am i wasting my money on something that cheap? i am a scratching/dj novice, but still i would like to be able to hang on to whatever mixer i get for a little while as i improve. any suggestions appreciated. cheers. |

| Lives for gear | Look on eBay - look for items within 10 miles, auction only. Pick up the item in person. There'll be less bids, the item will go more cheaply (MUCH more cheaply) and you'll be able to get away without the worry of P&P, which often damages items . . . MohThoM

| Gear nut | You definitely want something with an adjustable crossfader curve.... The cheapest mixer i've seen lately with a decent curve was the Denon dnx120 (older model was the dnx100...discontinued, so you might find one on the cheap) The go for around 200 bucks. I personally use Rane, but i like the Vestax crossfaders a lot...i dig the "click" they make...it feels real nice. |

| ah so the cheaper mixers have different crossfades? didn't know this. i was seriously considering getting a Behringer DX626 purely because it's like one of the cheapest things i could find - but this would be bad for scratching because of the curve?? i was originally going to get a Vestax VMC 002XL, but scrapped that idea when i couldn't afford it :P maybe i'll have to go back to that plan... which means waiting for months before i can buy it :( |

| Gear nut | Man....if you are ANY kind of serious about dj'ing, don't get the cheapest thing available. Get your grind on and save a couple dollars and buy something half decent. You'll be way happier that you did. |

| The vestax 05 or 06 can be had for £100 if you look on ebay etc. and it´s a good choice IMO. Just look out for the conditions of the faders, they can be changed but that is an additional cost of cource. Going for the behringers of dj mixers will give you a scratchy (no pun ) and leaky fader within a week or two of heavy use, literally. |

| sorry to hjack the topic. What is currently the best dj mixer out there? Something which one could use for hooking up a Pre amp and a condensor to it. I know the standard deck is an SL. Its industry standard. |

Theres no merits of using a pre amp and a condenser with a dj mixer IMHO, might as well go straight to the converter. | |

| Look into the details of the mixer. This aint no ordinary battle mixer. This is the Bentley of the mixers. This unit sounds incredible. None of that Vestax bs ...
