I'm a pc ..... sometimes?

I know someone here has worked with these big producers. Do these guys really use PC's or Macs? Not that it really matters, but this seems like it could blow up in your face if your not careful with these endorsements. If Bill Gates offered me a chunk of change I would stop using logic and go to sonar or cubase to make beats! lol.

is there really a difference these days in a well kept PC, and a well kept Mac?
They both have the same insides.

Word. Many people find it hard to believe me when I say I genuinely prefer working on a PC.

JR uses a PC to create but uses Mac PT HD to record/mix. Those that use Neko/miko r using PCs.

For beat making- Logic and Macbook Pro seem to be what alot of folks in my circles have but there r alot of producers who went PC/XP for sonar, cubase and PT LE because of the incompatabilites of Mac's ever changing O/S and alot of companies not keeping up ala spectrasonics with trilogy/atmosphere. XP is actually real solid. just a cap on RAM is whats holding it back.

Everything is usually mixed in PT HD on Mac. Myself I use Mac w/ HD but mixdown to a PC w/ Samplitude at 24/96 thru a cransong HEDD

Actually you can drop a new hard drive into a mac no problem. And you don't need a special type of drive either,, same goes for ram upgrades. It's the motherboards that are hard to change.

If someone is using Pro Tools, they really should be able to work on either platform pretty much the same without any significant issues. If you are semi-computer literate, as in, don't use your PC for internet, don't install every OSX update that wants to break Pro Tools, either platform should be sufficient.

Just because I think I'm better than you because I use a Mac and you use a PC makes me an elitist? I kid, i kid!

Actually, I really don't give a shit what anyone uses. Just get the job done and do a good job!!! It's amazing that this shit is actually debated. Human nature I guess.

The original question was referring to this link without trying to call anyone out or naming names, but here you go. I thought he was a mac guy.

Operating systems people thats all it really boils down to, if your happy with yours it's all good.

But just to add more frustration to the melting pot i would like to point out that i have always hated using computers and only used out board until i went to the studio, which back then was still reel 2 reel. I always had a computer, running windows, and was constantly annoyed with both it performance & reliability although computer power has move forward in leaps in thew last 7 years.

I now own a 4 core mac pro & have embraced Logic, with a touch of outboard, & will never look back.

I agree, although I think there isn't much of an argument as to the fact that OSX looks and runs a bit more smooth than XP... and this is coming from someone who uses both on a daily basis.. I am not biased but love how FAST i can get things done on OSX as opposed to windows.

Sure you can if you use one of the towers. No harder than with a PC. That said
I'm a PC guy too, but use Macs at work. (Avids and FCP).
