I think its great. I use Pro tools from start to finish now in 7.4. so the added features are gonna make things more awesome. I personally love the A.I.R instruments so I cant wait to hear the new ones/and effects .

Piano Roll enhaced midi. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS :-)

I think this update is gonna really help the creative flow and work flow process.

I hate that is not available right now. I was not thinking about a new pro tools at all. I just bout a new mac so i can use logic (my old mac died) so i spent the last month crying/waiting for my new computer now all i am thinking about is PT8

i own pt le 7.3 and logic studio 8...i prefer logic now cause of all the effects and instruments, but now it seems pt comes a bit closer to logic when it comes to producing...

Not bashing the software...all i'm sayin is the updates are a little late compared to other programs. The updates are a big deal in "pro tools world" but not compared to other programs. From the screen shots it kind of remind me of logic. I'm glad to see they are finally trying to give customers a little more for their money instead of every little thing having to be a upgrade. They are taking a step in the right direction in my book, still nothing to get too excited about unless you are a devoted user of the software...

Exactly where they are headed with this program...So what does that say about logic? I don't want to upset anyone so i'm going to stop before it gets to that point..lol

Pt 8 sucks my ass

talked to a rep he was a fag sorry but he was. I asked about the time compensation issue and he looked at me like was crazy cause he was an HD person. He said how would you expect us to fix such a thing. I batted my eyes twice. And just laughed. Why don't you ask logic peeps. ( you kufing dumb ass. Like it wasn't an issue. Reminded me of Bush. Just out of touch with the common folk. He was so pissed that i said such a thing. I hate digi. Honostly they are out of touch and just expect everyone to fallow because they are digi. UGGGGG. Please say "NO" to pt 8. though someone said maybe 8.1 will have time compinsation. I don't care. I'm selling my pc and getting a mac and buying logic. I hate digi design and am ready to move on. F_ck DIGI!!!! i drink i drunk. F_CK DIGI

If you are on pc, why don't you just buy Sonar 8?

I was checking out sonar 8 too, it looks great but I just hate the layout but that 64-bit mixing engine is supposed to sound great.

Try the demo version to see if you would like it. The UI for Sonar IMO, is very intuitive. Also, you can customize many parts of it.

Wow. Your 2 posts have completely convinced me not to buy Pro Tools 8. I'm so glad you set me straight with your opinion.

Why do you care so much what anyone buys or uses? Why is that so important to you?

yea this looks very similar to sonar. If sonar 8 fixes 2 issues that I have i will be moving back to it exclusively.

For real... I watched both videos and the only thing they showed me that I haven't been doing in Nuendo since i can remember is the real time pitch shift (which is great btw). But I can't believe you protools users been without these tools all this time. Figures a friend of mine that engineered at the Hit Factory in Miami for a few years and been working in pt since he graduated full sail years ago saw me in a session one time and said "how the F*ck you work so damn quick in that software?" I'm not trying to knock PT. I'm a whatever works for you type of guy but damn, i found that surprising that these updates are "exiting and new"...

you haven't been doing proper routing or time code conform.... I'll tell ya that ! I'm rather disappointed that PT has started to include loads of gimmicks - bundled samples. Pathetic! At least the rest of the professional facilities look good. Oh - and LE sucks. HD only.

sad thing is i'll probably end up buying it.... sigh... but i'm going to wait till 8.1 cause that's when you get the time compensation fix. Hopefully. That's what one of the reps said but it could be bs.
