| Lives for gear | New Linn Drum II Design / Info ... SEXXXY!! ![]() ![]() taken from: Roger Linn Design what i know: Two versions will be available. $1000/1500 one is just for drum sampling like an MPC and the other will have 4 voices dedicated to prophet 8 synth engine if im understanding that correctly. the first sold through Roger Linn Designs, the other through Dave's company... 2008 is no longer the release "date/timeframe" ... early 2009 Linn is quoted as saying in his NAMM interview (youtube)
Linndrum II Analog Drum Machine more info/source on price: Create Digital Music » LinnDrum II: Former BoomChik Gets More Delayed But More Mature Needless to say, I'm super excited about this and will probably buy it sight on seen or get a pre-order the moment that's possible. Ive exchanged a couple emails with Roger regarding the project but nothing substantial, nothing "scoop worthy" ... Ill add to this as I acquire more information. |

| 2009 Although i must say the price tag seems very competitive. Hope it becomes a classic bit of kit. Still not sure if i want to get one in replace of my MPC3000 but i may have a change of heart if i get to demo one. |

| I have one question. Will you be able to sample while the sequence is playing? If so, im completely sold. It looks very very tempting.

| Does it say that they are abandoning the 3rd design, i think that it was the best of them all.

| Lives for gear | im pretty sure the design you see there is the one they're going with. ive already sent them an email letting em know that THATS the one. since, you know, my opinion really matters a lot to roger linn ![]() ![]() but damn... i want it now! you can do everything on the fly supposedly... chop, add fx, drop fx, change fx, layers, sequencing etc... all while it's playing. |

| Wait a minute... it says this design was the abandoned one. ![]() |

| Lives for gear | No I think that's wrong. The second design which was at NAMM and which everyone was expecting to see, from what I gather, was the design that was abandoned. Hope that's right... I like the angled screen, sleekness and woodgrain baby! |

| Lives for gear | Hmm can't argue with that. I wonder why they even put it on the site though. Cuz I've been checking it out and I never saw those pics until last night ... maybe it's not cost effective? |

| I'm pretty sure the last time I checked (and this info is not on the website anymore) that the prices got changed to like $1400/1800. I'm totally feeling the amount of ins and outs and after a few good demos, I'm more than likely buying this. I'll probably need to move into a new place to fit it though. |

| Please do tony, can you ask a simple question please, if you can sample while the sequencer is playing. I just sold my MPC2xl and have 1500 sitting here. Was gonna get a MPC4k but am willing to hold out for this one.

| I spoke to Roger very briefly... He basically just said the unit is still in the development stages and that the webpage will be updated when they are ready to announce any further details. |

| I preferred the second design. The model without the analog drum machine. The small one. Still the functionality appears to be well thought out, but I will prolly stick with my MPC. |

| I'm definitely getting one, I missed out on the preorders but I'm not comfortable letting dudes hold my money for 2 years unless I'm getting interest on it it's gonna be nice when it comes out, for sure |

| If it can sample on the fly, it could make a pretty badass looper, too, if you set up a MIDI foot pedal right. That would be just unbelievably cool. With features like that, I'd get one even if it looked like this. Amazon.co.uk: Yamaha DD65-K Digital Drum Machine with 8 touch sensitive drum pads and 2 foot pads.: Electronics & Photo |
