ambitionz ridah = 808 kick?

2pac song ambitionz as a ridah

is that an 808 kick?

i always hear songs and think wow thats a nice kick, and then many months later, i realise that its just an 808 kick.

but im not sure about the 2pac song.

any other famous examples of an 808 kick? silly question, im sure theres millions. but give me a select few examples if you will.

The Ambitionz As A Ridah drums are from Joeski Love's "Pee Wee Dance"

Check it out...

YouTube - Joe Ski Love - Peewees Dance

Probably just 808.

It's definitely not an 808 on Joeski Love.
Sounds like one on Tupac but quite processed, not raw out the back of an 808.

It sounds like one of the non-boom 808s layered with that Joe Ski Love kick... pretty straight forward innit.

sorry, what do you mean by "wow"?

No im not obsessed by 808's.
Im just trying to learn here.

"yah i know but seriously 3 minutes on google he should just LEGALLY download 808 samples and play with them making music"
3 mins on google for what? I know what an 808 is.... this thread is not about "what is an 808".
I have a good amount of 808 samples and rebirth and have made tracks.

If you know what 808 kicks are and sound like and you "have a good amount of 808 samples" why are you asking for examples of "famous examples of an 808 kick?"

I'd also assume if you're familiar with the sound of an 808, that you could discern which songs have them and which ones don't on your own....

I'm not trying to come off harsh (which I'm sure I'll be taken as) but I'm just a little lost.

As far as the question of Tupacs song I would have to agree with Tony... Sounds like the Joe Ski Love kick layered with a short decayed 808 and mixed to taste....

because im no expert. I have basic understanding only.
theres so many tones and variations on the 808 kick...so im asking.

2pac song: surely that is just one kick? it doesnt sound layered, that kick...(but im no layering expert)

same song and dance? eminem song....yeah?

Don't know if this is the case...
Side chain the kick to a gate which is closed over a sine wave playing at desired hz. tweak gate decay from knock- thump- boom, etc. Blend accordingly.

so the noise gate is on the sine wave synth, and the kick is feeding it?
