freeware! I got one that make piano and drum sound sick!

I just download a freeware called manley tapehead. It's an audio unit (I work eith logic studio and reason) I never taught that my reason piano could ben that alive.
And on drum it's just give you the "in your face" that you need. On distorted guitar( real) it's wasn't really good.

I'm looking for good freeware like that one, anybody have good experience with some?

thanks for the correction. I have always heard people talking about how useful the Massey plugs are. I'm going to try out the demos on a beat I got to mix today.

Massey Tapehead is indeed free AU, and it is perfect for adding a little grit or tape flavor to a track or overall mix.
I posted a link with all kinds of AU freeware before, but the Massey and the Flux are two that really stuck out from the rest.

Wow!

Try a search, Tape Head is huge, as are the rest of the Massey plugs.
High-end plug-ins for Pro Tools

Man, some one posts a reccomendation for a plugin and everybody wants to get all ellitist and ish instead of just checking it out. Not a good look.

And honestly sick is as useful any other of these audio terms getting thrown around, warm or gritty or in your face, its all completely subjective buzz words.

Maybe you're just not in your groove yet today, cause this time around your post looked pretty stupid... I don't think Gilla was out of line to point that out for you and Jermaine, who also failed at sounding cool.

It is a really nice little plug. That and the blockfish gives a nice saturation feel to just about any material.

"is it pro?" I have to ask you - what is pro?

yea, from what i remember when i downloaded Massey's demos is that the plugins are fully functional, except when you close your project and open it back up your settings are defaulted. so you can use them, just can't save your settings. easy to workaround if you're a cheap bastard though.

You missunderstand brother I read and learn from your post, but the reason that they're so useful is you tend to cover the negative side that nobody else has tends to have the guts to. I know personally most times I appreciate your fecitiousness.

To use your own words,
No need to get defensive, homes.

Its all good.

Terrible attitude. Don't make lame posts. Unlike conversation, when you make a pathetic joke, you can actually back up and delete it.

U know i'm behind you with all the dissin', but you gotta have an angle.. I guess you can't be on point 100% of the time.

I mean sick by better than i taught i can do with reason.
It give punch and live to the drum and piano, the sound is more rich than really thin (like reason do). You can't say if it's professional, it's sound good, but last gym class hero with busta rhymes have a really thin bad sounding piano (for me) but it sound good on the track... and that' s a pro track. But it's certainly a good plug-in to put in your pocket for mixing your project!

Just some more info:

The MASSEY plugs are not freeware. Yes you can try them forever without bursts of noise etc, but there is no save & recall unless you buy them. Having said that, they are well cheap and probably deserve to be priced at 5 times what he sells them at.

The Massey Tape Head in AU format is indeed fully free and the reason behind this is that he was trying to port his RTAS plugs over to AU but had a hard time etc. and thus released the one he was working on as freeware. From memory it doesn't have the pretty GUI like the RTAS version.

You guys should venture outside the Hip Hop section more often as these plugs have been getting fantastic reviews in other parts round here for a looooooong time.
