also trash your dae preferences

program files/common files/digidesign/dae/preferences...delete
Do this as well as trashing your digi databases on all of your drives every time you boot up and remove them from your recycle bin as well.

Just delete the entire folder..no prob.
You have to do this each time that you boot up because thats the way PT is designed.

Read your mBox pro manual, homie...

...under windows configuration, (I think it's chapter 3) you will see instructions on disabling system standby and power management....Aww heck, I'll give you a start,

1. Choose Start > Control Panel.
2. Double-click Power Options.
3. Click the Power Schemes tab.
4. From the Power Schemes pop-up menu, select Always On.
5. Click OK.

This sets System Standby, System Hibernate, and "Turn off hard disks" to Never.

This will take care of your particular problem. If you really want to optimize your system, please, read the manual. There's like 5 other options to help reduce CPU issues.

Peace

the freeze looks like this...
i can still play and stop the session but i can't use anything else so i guess it's not a total freeze.

thanks.

Oh yeah..Ive seen MAJOR crashes on Macs.

I think MACs are just an "elitist thing" like..."yeah, Im using a MAC.. and you're not..na na na na na na"

F**k Macs..give me a maxed out PC any day.
I NEVER encountered any problems on my PCs like my elitist MAC user colleagues do

trashing all .ddb files really helps but i still get freezes every now and then.
a simple workaround (so i don't have to reboot) seems to be...

ctrl alt del -> activate pt.

thanks.
