Effect Automation on Output

Hey, I usually don't mix my own music, but recently took on a project that required me to do a quick mix, so I did a quick job ITB with the sonnox plugs I am demoing. I wanted to automate a filter plug on the output for a breakdown section and was not sure how to do it. I am running Logic Pro 8.

I'm not as experienced with logic, but with most DAWs, enable the channel to write automation and then open up the filter and change the parameter you want to be automated. This will write automation to a lane where you can then edit it in a more refined manner.

hope that helps

is there an automation for bypass then, because I don't want it running at all in other parts of the track

Yeah you should be able to simply arm the track to write automation, then hit play, pull up the plug and hit bypass when you want it to bypass, once that's written you can edit when that exactly happens just like writing panning, mute, etc.
