| Go hybrid. The big producers use both. Just make sure you use some outboard processing if the sound is too thin on the virtual. |

| Lives for gear | Hey why not have the best of both worlds- I just bought myself a Virus Snow. Its small compact, portable (comes with a carrying case) and can be used as a plug-in without having to wait for patches to load. In fact, patches load instantly! It also kills all software synths in terms of sound quality... |

| I personally like all the options that software gives you. I can now own the prophet 8 , oberheim and varioius other goodies on my G5 mac. All the software i have in the hardware world would equate to a lot of keyboards and sound modules. I don't have the money space for all those. I think the sound quality of soft synths now a days are good. I think acoustically though the motif xs still sounds great and that's defiantely something i would add to my arsenal just for it's acoustics... I also love the sound of the se-1x, minimoog voyager, and lil phatty.. software is great and with a few choice pieces of hardware you got a great setup....

| I dislike the effects of my hardware synth. But generally, I like using both hardware and software. Each has it's advantages and disadvantages. Put them together and you have a winning combo. |
