Go hybrid. The big producers use both.
Just make sure you use some outboard processing if the sound is too thin on the virtual.

Hey why not have the best of both worlds- I just bought myself a Virus Snow. Its small compact, portable (comes with a carrying case) and can be used as a plug-in without having to wait for patches to load. In fact, patches load instantly! It also kills all software synths in terms of sound quality...

I personally like all the options that software gives you. I can now own the prophet 8 , oberheim and varioius other goodies on my G5 mac. All the software i have in the hardware world would equate to a lot of keyboards and sound modules. I don't have the money space for all those. I think the sound quality of soft synths now a days are good.

I think acoustically though the motif xs still sounds great and that's defiantely something i would add to my arsenal just for it's acoustics...

I also love the sound of the se-1x, minimoog voyager, and lil phatty..

software is great and with a few choice pieces of hardware you got a great setup....

Cool

I dislike the effects of my hardware synth.

But generally, I like using both hardware and software. Each has it's advantages and disadvantages. Put them together and you have a winning combo.

Oh my bad, I forgot to ask ToneCre8 before I mentioned anything on a forum. You are def the man, I forgot about that too. Should I call you Homie, or Fam, or Family, or some other "in" statement. And thanks for pointing out how little I could possibly know about clicking some knobs on a device. So let me hit you with another colloquialism, "Das Was Up Homie, Good Looking out wit dat knowledge you droppin' Fam, sum nuggets in that clown post you juss put on me, yeah you kilt dat one Fam. Good Lookin'"

IDIOT
