| MPC not computer My 2 bits, back in the day I searched for a long time - without the aid of the internet or living in a hip-hop city, and just couldnt find the right gear to make good beats. DAWs were beginning but my stuff just didnt have attitude working all in the computer. Then I got an MPC 2000xl and it clicked - maybe not the best MPC but a thousand times better beats than what I was doing for the last few years. To be more general, hardware sampler/sequencer should do it, thats all it is, not much in the way of effects, eq, filtering. I guess I could have kept my ancient Casio FZ-1 sampler and Alesis MMT-8 sequencer and triggered sounds instead of loops but they were already long gone... So MPC for those that aint got "IT" naturally, but DAW with sampler plugin like Native Instruments Battery if you do |
