| Gear interested | AKG C 414 B mic into budget firewire interface: bad? 1st off, I am a frequent reader of this forums and have been helped a lot by some of your posts and suggestions, for this I thank you and hope I may one day help someone in the same way.... now onto my question: I currently am working with a singer back home in Chicago and am pointing her in the direction of a high quality mic/interface combo so we can get down without having her have to book lots of studio time to do what we have to do. I am fond of the AKG C 414 mic, having heard it used quite frequently and would like her to pick this up; her budget being around $1500, we need a firewire interface but a preamp isn't really something she can do right now. I would be doing all of the processing on the raw vocals myself, running it through some of my gear. Are we fine going with something like the M-Audio Firewire Solo or something in that range? Or will this degrade quality? Thanks in advance for any suggestions....

| If your running a mac then get the duet... The sound quality is sick... Also take a look @ the peluso VTB in the same price range for your mic... Good luck.....
