| Ok guys so I have a question about a mixing effect. I produce mostly rap and the other day I was just getting around and messing with certain effects on my console and seeing what I could do/come up with. Long story short I had a real dull mic, thinking hmmmmm wonder if I can brighten it up I took my Aux send 1 and bussed a small amount of it to channel 1 on my compressor. Then fed the output to the channel insert/input of my mixer and used my EQ on that channel to add key frequencies to make the vocal a lot more noticeable. So is this already a effect that people use ? I was just curious about this. Thanks!!! Awesome site by the way.

| Are you asking whether or not tracking with parallel type of compression and eq is new? If so the answer would be no. |
