I need to transfer samples from a MPC 2000 to a Mac....what do I do?

I have a situation where I need to transfer an Iomega 250mb zip disk (via scsi drive) from an MPC2000 to a computer (usb). The disk is filled with just drum samples. I don't use an MPC so I have a couple of questions.

Does the MPC format sounds as something other than wave? Or if I just get a Iomega usb zip drive wlll it be able to transfer all the sounds directly to my Mac in wave?

i do it all the time.
I have a 100MB scsi zip drive on my MPC2000 (non XL) and I have a USB zip drive for my macbook pro. I make programs on the mac, then copy them to the zip disk and pop it in the MPC. I don't format the zip disks at all....I've been just using them the way they come out of the box. Hope this helps.

I want to do the opposite. Take samples from a scsi zip from an MCP2000 and transfer them to my Mac. So u are saying it should be the same way either direction?

It should work fine in reverse. If the sounds were recorded on the mpc, then they might be saved as .snd files. I'm pretty sure you can find something fairly easilly to convert that to .wav or .aif if you need to.
