Open Labs - Neko

I wrote to Open Labs in hope of using the Neko in conjunction with Pro Tools, I recieved this:

Thanks for contacting us! You should have no problem running Pro Tools
on our current Neko build. You simply must connect the digi supported
hardware to the one of two USB ports located on the Neko. Reason and
many other windows based 3rd party plugins have also been tested and
approved. As you know quality in a pre amp is subjective but I find
them to personally be equal if not better quality than the avid pre's.
However, if you use pro tools I believe the DAE requires you to run
through the MX003.

What does the "However, if you use pro tools I believe the DAE requires you to run
through the MX003" mean?

Thanks

Autumn,

My name is Sean and I wrote your reply email. Around the time of the Digi002 the actual digidisgn name for the unit was a MX002. I have since used it as an abreviation for digi003 (even though the actual model may have changed).

Your question was asking about the quality of pre amps on our machines. My reply was meant to state that if you use Pro Tools they require that only use their front end (meaning their pres). So in essence it dosnt matter how good the onboard pres are if you are using pro tools because you will be bypassing the pre's on our internal sound card and using them on the digi supported hardware.

Hope This Helps,
Sean
